It’s strangely wonderful that the future Earth that Pike and Vina visit includes the city of Mojave, which is a real city about 60 miles of Los Angeles, close to what is called the Antelope Valley. Lots of wind powered generators around Mojave. #TOSSatNight

I will be watching along tonight and participating to some extent. Next Saturday, I regret that I’ll be missing Star Trek’s second pilot as I’ll be in Yosemite Valley where there is basically no data or wifi. Hopefully my hiking goes better than James Kirk’s climbing in Star Trek V. 🖖 #TOSSatNight

On my second run-throughs of the new mazes for Knott’s Scary Farm (did them one time each on opening night), I reversed my reactions and enjoyed Inked a lot more than Unearthed. Had to do additional runs of both mazes closer to midnight, and found that Unearthed was better on the 3rd & 4th times.

When Zarabeth speaks about loneliness, I think about the original Twilight Zone episode The Lonely, where Jack Warden stars as a prisoner marooned on a distant asteroid losing his mind from his psychological isolation. Would make a good pairing with All Our Yesterdays. #TOSSatNight

The new Magic show for Scary Farm, Occultum, had times posted on the Six Flags app including 9:30 pm. I got to the BurdCage Theatre a little before 9 to find the schedule had changed, the 9 pm show was sold out, and the next show would be at 10:45. You better, Knott’s.

Of the two new mazes at Knott’s Scary Farm, I enjoyed Unearthed more on my first impressions. Who doesn’t love an ancient Egyptian archaeology-themed attraction? The ambiance of the maze and the monsters are fantastic (the archaeologist scareactors, not so much).

Probably my favorite mazes, Eight Finger Nine, had maybe half the scareactors at around 9 pm tonight that I saw in my walkthroughs in 2024 and 2025. Still some good scares and the props are all there, but I’m disappointed.

Was toward the front of the crowd for the witch performance near the Calico RR, which ended right around 7. Was maybe one of the first 75 or 100 people in standby line for new Inked maze, at 7:04. Got into the actual maze around 7:17 pm, but the wait time was building exponentially after that.

Not sure what’s going on with Knott’s Scary Farm opening ceremony this year, but there was a story with characters above the Ghost Town, with the crowd moving next to the train station around ten minutes before 7 and a townswoman and three witches (Sarah Marshall and her sisters) appearing.

Knott’s is selling a variety of their 100th anniversary pins in a discount container at the Factory Store. They are supposed to be 70% off ($3 each) but apparently some of them are on a different discount so when I bought three it came out to about $11 (no additional pass holder discounts).

On Enterprise Incidents podcast, Steve Morris said he would have had Shatner dial back his performance if he had directed because it’s so patently obvious that this character is not Kirk. There would have been some possible disagreement among the crew with a more nuanced performance. #TOSSatNight

Saw a rumor that Knott's had closed their Independence Hall to all except school groups and was no longer open to the public. Had to call Knott's to find out, but they have closed the replica of the historic Philadelphia statehouse Mondays through Fridays. Still open on Saturdays and Sundays.
