What would happen if a prosecutor in an actual courtroom did something like this?

Considering Odysseus's antics during his long sojourn, the idea that there can be no One True Version (tm) of the story seems utterly perfect.

Well, what if hyperspace IS unitary? If it makes the data make sense...

I'm very sad that they're packing it in, but I'm also not surprised. I'm trying to focus on enjoying the music they gave us rather than get wrapped up in the unknowable what-might-have-been. Time to go listen to Watermark again.

I have to assume that the bookshelf behind the treadmill was carnivorous, thus offering extra incentive for you to keep up the pace. Or, y'know, for when the shredder overheated.

When this is appealed to SCOTUS, do both sides get to file a brief? Specifically, will anyone have a chance to say "It would be hypocritical in the extreme to stay this under Purcell after what you just did"?

Knowledge elicitation is actually a first-order skill that cultural anthropologists work very hard to learn. It lets them get at some things people know but don't articulate. That just leaves the stuff people know but *can't* articulate. As Polanyi says, that's what apprenticeships are for!

I’ve also heard this come up in a discussion of when to use genAI: is this a job where the only thing that counts is delivering the product? Or a trip to the gym, where the effort itself changes you in ways that you want?

I recall Ken and Aaden discussing this when they found out about Freya’s kink. I just re-read the first half of that entry and found another mention that hits close to home: Wren keeping a yoga practice rather than have nanochine build the strength for her. What ever happened to Whatshisface?

I found the "oh, that was just a heretic sect" gambit a bit clumsy, but putting that aside, two of my favorite moments in ME3 were the geth saying "Yeah, we've been looking after Rannoch while you've been away" and the incidental dialogue about geth combat-dropping in to help the humans.

The thing that really hit me about the geth was the part in ME3 where Legion is talking about the Dyson sphere that they were building -- that the quarians destroyed. The geth just wanted a home where they could beep peacefully at each other.

Is this Hagan? If so, hi Hagan! He seemed so much happier inside the virtual world than he did embodied as Security Monster.

I'll defer to the experts, but here's my summary: Congress is very specific about how US Attorneys are appointed. The government doesn't want to follow that process. This ruling says that the latest attempt at sidestepping the process is invalid and that Judge Brann is tired of the shenanigans.
