I LOVE MY OCS! newest batch of freaks: cain murphy, she/any, deeply insecure but she'll never let you know, romeo rivera, they/them, cain's piece of shit stoner boyfriend, and florence young, she/her, a historical reenactor from the 90's who died in her costume, and thus looks much older than she is

reblog by same user: "also in case it wasn't clear, this film is less about like. defeating the ender dragon and much more about finding joy in community and exploring a world that is as beautiful as it is wild and getting to experiment with stuff and find what you are passionate about and both alex and steve are set up in a way that makes it a satisfying reveal when we find out that the two of them and all the others are what happens when the love and care the universe has for itself crystalises."
reblog by same user: "more on this:

there isn't much dialogue in the movie. the most talking will happen at the end, when the pond made of pure black tells them the story of their existence. steve is fully mute, while alex just doesn't talk super much.

also to expand upon the first scene where we get to see an enderman: it's extremely serene. of course alex warns steve to not look them in the eyes, they can and will kill you, but the scene itself is just alex and steve watching a group of endermen stand around, pick up blocks and warble to each other. they are tall, but they look kind."post continued: "this serves to contrast the scene later in the end where through eye contact one of the endermen goes haywire. and this is where we realize that oh shit these things are dangerous. with its sharp claws, gaping maw and incredible reach it towers in front of steve and it might just kill him then and there- and then on top of all that it fucking teleports. alex manages to kill it, but only barely. this raises the stakes for later when they are forced to run for cover and push through a metric shitton of endermen who, when calm look so delicate and fragile, but now alex and steve know what happens when they accidentally look where they shouldn't.

also, killing mobs is never seen as fun. they go hunting sometimes, but they never kill more than they need, and even the undead don't catch unnecessary violence from our heroes."continued: "as for visuals, i'm thinking very classic minecraft landscapes and structures but in a very painterly 2d (possibly 2.5d) animation" followed by four in-game minecraft screenshots of different biomes, a cherry grove, a mineshaft, a warped forest and a lush cave
"(pictured above: various screenshots of biomes in minecraft)"four images of concept art for the show blue eye samurai. the art style is painterly and soft, the colours are vibrant.

i've mentioned it above but i want to reiterate that this movie would be very slow paced. about 10 to 20 minutes are taken up by our introduction to alex as she goes through the motions, then another 40-60 minutes is simply alex and steve growing closer and undergoing Character Development, with more and more breathtaking views and experiences that alex shares with steve, and more and more vulnerability shown from alex. only the last half hour or so goes into actual plot territory"

tumblr post continued: "starts with alex livin it up. there's much to do, farms to tend to, trades to make, an iron golem to patch up and resources to collect. in her spare time she builds more and more amenities for her and the village nearby. it's beautiful. she's been here a long time.

the longer we follow her throughout the day though, the more apparent it becomes that something is missing. the townsfolk are eager to do business, but alex can't speak their language and they can't speak hers. and as kind as they are, they are not interested in making friends. alex has a dog or maybe a cat or maybe a few pets, but none of them can speak to her either. this world has such beauty to offer and alex has no one to share it with. at one point there's a wide shot of a tiny alex walking through/past some huge build. she's the only person in frame.

overall alex would call herself happy. she's survived long enough to make life pleasant, she has music and good food and enough stuff to do to fend off the isolation. or so she tells herself."continued: "then one day, there's something new. or rather, someone new.

enter steve. he wakes up in a field, he has no recollection of getting there, nor has he any memory of his life before. if he had one. (we find out later, alex was much the same once upon a time)

alex finds him and after making sure he isn't aggressive, takes him in.

cue alex getting progressively less guarded and learning to appreciate the company by showing steve the ropes of this world, and steve being taught how to do shit, be brave and explore, how to build and express himself. there's multiple incredibly beautiful scenes where they just bathe in the scenery or where alex is showing steve different mobs and stuff (specifically endermen as set up for later)."continued: "it's very slow paced and slice of life ish, kind of a ghibli vibe. all along we get a bit of worldbuilding here and there, about how there used to be people with advanced technology here, especially compared to what the townsfolk have. alex talks about raiding abandoned cities and ruins with music discs and traps, and together they wonder what might've happened to these civilizations. important though that it's not something brought up too often, moreso a little easter egg.

then maybe one day they venture too far and stumble upon an end portal. maybe alex has seen one of these before but it never had these weird orbs in the frame, and it has never glittered like that. something happens and steve falls in. alex naturally follows.

they arrive in the end. steve accidentally looks at an enderman since they fucking litter the place and alex can only think to save him by slaying it. the dragon, which so far has been peaceful, sees this and attacks, alex and steve run and hide. this would be a pretty hefty tonal shift. alex has been shown fighting and killing mobs, even teaching steve to do the same, but never once would the situation have felt this dire. i feel like with them frantically running through hordes of endermen they can't look at, this could be a very tense and high energy scene if done right."continued: "methinks the way back to the overworld is not like. opened by slaying the dragon, it's just guarded by it. this allows for alex and steve to get back home without killing the dragon bc i don't like that idea. idk they figure out some way to get past it and they find a pond. a pond that whispers to them secrets about how they were created from the void as a manifestation of like. creative spirit or love or something, with an appearance from the end poem (edited a bit to make it fit into the story of course, and bc it's simply too long to fit into a scene). it's shot kinda like a trip? or hallucination? but it's very much implied it's real. at the end they fall through the pond and end up back at alex's house. DO NOT!! make it a "it was all a dream" thing or i will end up on the news.

(optionally maybe there's a little bit of a teaser of the rest of the mc characters showing up as well or something but without the implication of a sequel)

overall very positive and feel good ending. alex and steve sit and watch the sunset or something cheesy like that"
