No, that’s not what jingoism is at all. A play is also performative; it’s not by nature jingoistic. Jingoism is an extreme form of patriotism highlighted by aggressive nationalism and a belligerent foreign policy. Singing God Bless America may be patriotic but it’s hardly extreme or aggressive.
