F. What a beautiful gut punch. I was EXTREMELY skeptical when James came aboard. A guy from a Paper joining my beloved Blog. Just as I was skeptical of Josh, a Commenter joining my beloved Blog. And both adding a level of content, value, and joyful energy I could have never envisioned. Perhaps I should just Trust Jim forever.

This is my favorite place on the internet. James, you’ve given so many of us an insight into a ballclub that we could not have imagined, in good times and bad, always for the better. There’s nothing to say to that other than thank you. Gavin Sheets coming out and facing the music after the Sox set a record for losses would have meant nothing if we didn’t know how much he loved this game and these fans, because of your reporting. Just like we could not have known how much Miguel Vargas wanted so badly to be a superstar for a playoff team, even while batting .100 for 2 months.

SoxMachine was great before James got here. It will be great after James leaves. But goddamn has it been spectacular for the past few years, in the midst of extreme lows and extreme highs. And there is no doubt that James was an essential part of that who will be deeply, deeply missed here. SoxMachine forever.
