I've given them a chance but three presenters on #BBCStrictly is one too many. Emma's great in the Tess role but I'm unsure whether it should be Josh or Jojo who gets the boot. I'd like to see Josh up in the Clauditorium before making a decision though, rather than him hanging round like a spare

Went to my first York meet in years today, mostly because I (officially) lose free travel on Grand Central in a fortnight. It might be down to the weather but the venue didn't really gel with me. Rather than the usual bar, it's held at a pop-up food court comprising a series of shipping

Been unsure if I should say anything but for what it's worth, this is my perspective.

What I have said is all well and good in terms of my own perspective but what has actually happened to me since I expressed my desire to leave?

I have had my email account wiped and outside of the immediate teams I worked with, there has been no communication whatsoever bar some kind words from one of the directors during a meeting (which was on an unrelated matter and is when I believe they learned of my departure).

For an event that wants to put structure into everything, have interviews for new candidates etcetera, this lack of care at the end is disappointing. A formal thank you is all people would most likely want.

I would be remiss for not mentioning that the con has done things for me in the past but this makes it feel like certain things that should be connected aren't and if you are leaving after giving up your time, money and energy to make the event as good as it can possibly be, the silence is deafening.

So what is the point of me saying all this?

I don't believe that any one involved is inherently bad but the actions have spoken louder than words, although the words in the six page response were the final straw for me. I have tried to remain as balanced as I can be despite having very strong emotions to what has happened.

If you still want to attend, that's fine. I am deeply upset that this has all happened right before the 20th anniversary with a theme that was made for me. I haven't been so excited for an event after it was revealed in years.

There are many people I would consider or are friends of mine still working for the convention and I don't think any less of them for that. Its because of them that I wanted to keep this as balanced as I can but ultimately, I want to end with one request.

Treat your volunteers better, ConFuzzled. You would be nothing without them.

tl;dr I've resigned from CFz after 19(ish) years and won't be attending next year. With the number of resignations, sabbaticals and vacancies in the relevant teams get-in and get-out for 2027 are going to be "interesting" as things currently stand.
