#NerdfArters Day 3 prompt: "Comma," with a little, original rhyme. (We shouted "Good morning, Hank! It's Tuesday!" and picked up our copies of "Hollywood, Ending" on a day-trip adventure to John Green's book tour and the CN Tower. Now I'm about halfway through the novel.) #DFTBA
A pencil sketch on green paper of an open film clapperboard centered within a diagonal shaft of sunlight, flanked by deep shadows. A large, stylized comma is drawn as the hinge for the clapper sticks. On the slate is an original six-line poem: "The comma does not end / the telling, but will bend / the clause to let it lean / ahead into the scene, / compelling threads to stay / in motion as they play,". Faint shadow spots mottle the illuminated area (caused by our bird window collision prevention squares).

#NerdfArters Day 2 prompt: "Pizza John Western." (There ain't mushroom in this town for violence. Vote Pizza for Mayor.) #DFTBA
A pencil sketch on yellow paper of a slice of pepperoni pizza wearing a cowboy hat and a handlebar mustache. A wooden pencil rests to the right of the drawing.

#NerdfArters Day 1 prompt: "Pizza Friends." (Our birds, Calamity Ganon and Coconut, sharing a #Pizzamas slice since no-one left any popcorn unattended.) #DFTBA
A pencil line drawing on white paper, of two green-cheek conures eating a tiny pizza. The conure on the left stands facing right, holding a triangular slice of pizza up to its beak with one raised foot. The conure on the right leans forward to peck directly at the open crust of the remaining pie, which sits between them. A scattering of crumbs and crust bits surrounds the base of the pizza because they are messy eaters. A wooden pencil rests horizontally on the paper near the top of the frame.

My joyful moment: a cool breeze, a weathered piano, and playing Aram Khachaturian's 1932 Toccata. #SimplePleasures #PublicArt
A low-angle, side view of an outdoor upright piano that has been painted with a landscape scene. The artwork depicts a river winding through a dense, green forest under a sunset. The piano itself is weathered, with the keyboard showing chipped and worn keys.

#DFTBA! What are we even looking at? #rockyourawesomesocks from @thegooddotstore.bsky.social
Under a purple light, a life-size statue (with the glittering surface of a disco ball) depicts a human figure sitting with their head tilted slightly up, as if interested in something in the distance. A man poses next to this statue in a Canadian hotel lobby, pretending to see what is so interesting off screen in the distance. The man is also without shoes, to highlight his Awesome Socks from the monthly sock subscription on Good.Store that raises money for the Maternal Center of Excellence, a hospital in Sierra Leone.

I always enjoy having an excuse to make more cursed (and I guess sometimes less cursed) Nerdfighter art with the family! You never quite know what's going to happen at a P4A! #NerdfArters #DFTBA
An unsettling depiction of an imagined screenshot of a nonsense YouTube livestream by Chizza Marge and Hank Flanders, with the live chat displayed at the bottom. The Chizza Marge character has the cartoon body of Marge Simpson, the terracotta head of John Green, hair of chia sprouts and a cactus (for height), and a thought bubble with the words "Legal Reasons". Hank Flanders has the body of Ned Flanders, the head of Hank Green from that brief moment he had a mustache, and his arm around Chizza Marge. The live chat is borrowed from a real Nerdfighter livestream, in which one user's comment on the terracotta figurine of John Green's head ("a cactus would be great. a nice Marge Simpson look") led to this visual attempt at whatever this is. The other commenters say "Howdy", "Johnergy", and "hope everyone has a good day <3".

Coconut is unsure what 2024 was, but remains curious about what happens next. #NewYearsEve #Conures #BirdsofBluesky #DFTBA
A green-cheek conure named Coconut sits on a perch, with their head tilted and looking quizzical. The background is a reproduction of "The Starry Night" oil-on-canvas painting by the Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh, that happens to be hanging on the wall behind the bird.

Same from us to you and Cora! It turns out our birds can't get COVID from us silly mammals, so they continue to remind us to use our vacation time for rest, treats, and music (or loud car-alarm-like noises...). They also dance and sing along with their favourite holiday tune: 12 Days of Christmas.
Two green-cheek conures are perched together, high up on their spherical rope-climbing toy. One of the birds is preening the other, seemingly in just the right spot (the tiny feathers just above the beak).

Randomly presenting: "Humanity's relationship with the Moon, brought to us by Diet Dr. Pepper and @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social." Apparently this image is what I make when a #NerdfArters art prompt for "Dr. Pepper-Flavored Everything" inspires @andie.dftba.social, and I try to capture her vision.
The iconic scene from a 1902 French science-fiction adventure trick film called A Trip to the Moon [Le voyage dans la lune], in which a rocket lands on the eye of The Moon, but heavily modified such that the rocket is now an old-timey bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper, and The Moon's face is now a Pizza John (which is a memeified picture of author John Green's face with a mustache and the word "PIZZA" under it).

Here's my mountain dulcimer arrangement of an Irish air with lyrics by Thomas Moore. It's nice for quiet moments, but my family describes the song as "a real mood". It was in many books for school and family use, popular during the 19th century and a few decades of the 20th. #sheetmusic #dulcimer
