Nothing new to share for now unfortunately- literally haven't touched music in like 6 months. But if you'll bear with me a bit longer I'm hoping to get back to it soon. Thanks for being here~ 2/2

Hey there, it's been a minute. Just checking in. I'm still here, just been super busy. Stressful and busy times, but a lot of really good things have come to fruition from it, much of which could lead to some really cool music stuff from me in the near future. 1/2

Seeing a lot of false postings out there. Despite the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's recent closure, PBS and NPR are still VERY MUCH ALIVE and active. They're just more dependent than ever upon the generosity of Viewers Like You! Please support your local station! pbs.org/donate

Couldn't sleep and stayed up all night making something silly. I am not artistically inclined, so putting some feelers out- any of my followers or moots interested in doing a collab? Need some art for a YT vid. DM for details if interested, but I'll preface it's Sonic related and meme adjacent lol

Definitely check out Killstar's website. And it's cliche, but Hot Topic (especially online) has a rotating assortment of stuff. Also don't count out Etsy for accessories, especially jewelry and bags and stuff. Sincerely, -Husband to a goth wife 🖤 (makes anniversary shopping easy lol)

This sums it up, very well put. I got the feeling after the first listen that something was being held back.. The music is good, the voice itself is good.. just, feels like they played it very VERY safe. But maybe that's the purpose, with all the other cross-over stuff and potential new audiences?

Seeing a lot of takes on DK Bananza's music theme being "anime opening coded"- I can see that, but def got a way heavier Disney/Pixar vibe. Like the tune just sounds like a song from Frozen or something. The whole thing is starting to give me Wreck-It Ralph vibes in general lol. Anyone else?

Think I found my spirit.. enemy? Is that a thing? Love these guys from DR Ch.3. They play the sax, make sax noises when you talk to 'em, and even have shadow in their name- they were made for me! Though I wouldn't look near as dapper in a pinstripe suit and fedora. Still, love these goobers. 💙

@sunsetaura.bsky.social you were absolutely right. Dark Zone is some next level stuff. Might do a cover/mash-up of that one for Halloween this year~ You have full permission to @ me if I don't have it done by then with "YOUR TAKING TOO LONG" lol

Will have to look that one up! I just got to the dark sanctuary last night and stopped right there, so I'm not familiar with the tunes from there onward yet- but will keep a mental note for that tune!

Toby Fox might just be king of the earworms- so many catchy tunes in Deltarune ch 3 and 4... Super busy lately but I may have to force some time in to do an arrangement of a song or two~ Got a couple in mind, but any suggestions/recommendations? 🤔

Don't have a Switch 2 yet, but the Jazz/Big Band/Ska remixes of old Mario tunes in MK World friggin' SLAP. Holy cow was I not ready for how hard that soundtrack goes.

A fellow musician @thezame.bsky.social did a remix of my old arrangement of Lugia's theme- and absolutely BLASTED it out of the water! Beautiful work- if you're a fan of the original theme, or my old arrangement, please don't skip this one~ www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyrW...

Eatin' good this week. Silent Hill F, RE9, and a new Scott Pilgrim all have me hyped~ Weirdly, think I may have just lost interest in Crossworlds though. Makes sense to have all the cameos with a name like "Cross Worlds" but... eh. I think I'd rather it have been Sonic characters only. Just me?

Had a convo with a colleague today about the power of melodies in music. She said that above all else, what gives a tune power and longevity is if it gets stuck in the listener's head. Got me wondering- which, if any, of my tunes have you found yourself humming or whistling throughout your day? 🤔

Wild to me that MKII has like 1K more views than Metal- I don't know if that's cause there's more MKII fans than I realized or what. But Mecha MKI is also out-pacing Metal in views/listens. I just assumed the Metal Variant would be the default most listened to, because, ya know, Metal. 🤷

Ain't that the truth. Day job has just been rather... Unfulfilling lately. Sunday nights before starting another monotonous work week just hit the feels. Not enough time in the weekend ya know? We shall persevere- all things shall pass, blues included. Hope you can stay focused on the light also!

Ristar turned 30 yesterday?! Yeesh. I remember buying it from the store as a kid. Love it to pieces, such charm and great music. Would love to see Sega take a crack at a sequel, a la Sonic Mania style. Definitely go play it if you never have! It's a blast~

So I keep seeing people talking about "Carrier Zone" being brought back for #SonicRacingCrossWorlds but like... that musical sting is Metal Harbor my dudes. And some of the track assets and textures look it too. Maybe Carrier Zone is now mashed up with Metal Harbor/Weapons Bed from SA2?

I'm not a huge anime guy these days, but the cool rainy weather has me staring out the window and listening to a playlist of a few of my favorite sad/sappy anime ending tunes from the early 2000's. It's a vibe, man.

🔴CALLING ALL ARTISTS🔴 Christie's NYC is planning an AI art auction expected to bring in over $600,000 to creators who've used models trained on copyrighted material from non-consenting artists. If you object to this, please sign and share this open letter. openletter.earth/cancel-the-c...

8 February 2025
Cancel the Christie's AI Art Auction

Nicole Sales Giles & Sebastian Sanchez

Christie’s, New York

Dear Nicole and Sebastian,

We are writing to express serious concern over your upcoming auction of AI art at Christie’s.

Many of the artworks you plan to auction were created using AI models that are known to be trained on copyrighted work without a license. These models, and the companies behind them, exploit human artists, using their work without permission or payment to build commercial AI products that compete with them.

Your support of these models, and the people who use them, rewards and further incentivizes AI companies’ mass theft of human artists’ work.

We ask that, if you have any respect for human artists, you cancel the auction.

Yours sincerely,

The undersigned artists

Right? Doesn't help that I'm basically a boomer with my phone lol. I use my phone for calls, texting, alarm clock, and occasional social media. I do not want to play games on my phone. Feels uncanny to me. And let's not get started on in game currencies and micro transactions.
