Kinda crazy to think that this time a lot of players won't need to take time off work to play WoW Forever

Soul @soulsobreezy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Hi @worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com friends! I'm repping for the Horde alongside fellow WoW creators and competing to Escape from the Scarlet Monastery! It'll be fine! It'll be totally fine! #WoWEscapeTogether #WoW_Partner #ad

Commenters were quite receptive to my Arathi theory which feels great! Unsurprisingly they lean against another contrived faction war, but I'm convinced the factions (armies, not just leaders) can play off each other well and spotlight pride in their colors/race.

I don't envy Blizzard's choices. Ride it out: guy eventually leaves but bad optics for tolerating the behavior Ban the guy: he makes himself a martyr and gets bigger, which could embolden who knows what behavior Shadowbanning them to their own layer: combo of 1 and 2

Tomorrow morning we sit (stand) and talk some of the flaws in WoW's current storytelling and how to bring it back to form... ...where the next big bad is a whole-ass continent. It'll be fun!

Been sitting here thinking of how I want to cover the weird drama in Forever/classic/modern discourse and...gave up. It's a shitty, baity topic that doesn't really offer anything useful.

Social media people're trying to make me believe my WoW preference and taste is directly associated with political affiliation. That's psychotic lol

I'm not taking the deepest dive into Forever, but it reads like Horizontal progression = multiple BiS outfit farming to maximize damage/defense against types, professions etc., and expanding those variables over time? Like someday we'll want +kobold dmg cause new content

Same conversation, different experiment, comparing the starting crypt for Undead

070

Soul @soulsobreezy.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Add the new lighting/fog/water to housing neighborhoods and you'll get people visiting. Or just staying there to like, build.

0120

Soul @soulsobreezy.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Another contrast experiment, 100% versus 50% (default)

171

Soul @soulsobreezy.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Personally finding higher contrast (50% default) works better with the new lighting/fog, otherwise it feels like I'm straining my eyes. Small sample, but what you do you think?

040

Soul @soulsobreezy.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

IMO, fog/lighting could use some adjustments

After seeing dramatic "I'm switching" takes and overthinking, Here's my approach to Forever: 1. Level to 60 and get good enough gear. 2. Return to the modern game. 3. Hop into Forever and do the new thing cause I (supposedly) don't need to replace gear. 4. Repeat 2-3. Simple yeah
