The Hope Machine #5: Fighting Back Against Misinformation
You know that feeling of when you've just climbed over a hill, and in the distance, you still see mountain after mountain after mountain? That's kind of how life feels right now. After about a month and a half of combined efforts between my colleagues and I, we published a anti-homeless rhetoric series. This might be the most important work we've done yet.

The garment industry is the second largest polluter in the world, with oil being in the lead. Fast fashion is not sustainable, and there’s no denying it. It’s not only killing the planet, but garment workers suffer some of the worst labor practices in the world.

It was in my mid 20s’ when I really learned the power of a single action. I was in my fourth year of college and my landlord suddenly retracted my lease renewal and began his year-long quest to evict me from my rent-stabilized apartment.

a medieval-style digital art piece. In the center, there’s text reading “Let this radicalize you rather than lead you to despair.” written in black gothic script, with a colorful blue, pink, and green dragon hanging upside down acting as the capital L. There is also a smaller red, blue, and yellow dragon as a filler at the end of the text. There’s a thin, blue and white border around the edges.

We hear the phrase "work-life balance" all the time. One of the 3 most common objections to universal basic income is that people would work less. On balance, because less work means more life, that's the same thing as fearing that people would live more. Oh no, people lived 2 hours more per week…
