If you want stability, packages up to date and like Fedora, a great community, I think #FreeBSD would be the right option for you. But the best is to try first and look by yourself 😉

@EU_Commission A €3 fee per item category on non-EU imports is a 1985 band-aid that only feeds bureaucracy. Modern industry needs automation and competitiveness, not protectionism. Producing here is too expensive and wages are tight—consumers look for the lowest price.

A Colossus Mark 2 codebreaking computer being operated by Dorothy Du Boisson (left) and Elsie Booker (right), 1943

The image shows a Mark 2 Colossus computer, one of the ten machines built during World War II for British codebreaking efforts. Two women, Dorothy Du Boisson (left) and Elsie Booker (right), operate the large electronic computer, which occupies an entire room. The machine is composed of panels filled with switches, dials, cables, and vacuum tubes, representing the first (semi-) programmable electronic computers in history, built in 1943 to help decipher encrypted German communications at Bletchley Park.

Layers was AT&T’s proprietary windowing system, shipped with the #UNIX PC (PC 7300), predating the widespread adoption of X11. Layers acted like a graphical multiplexer—a distant ancestor of tmux or screen—but ran directly on a bitmap display with rudimentary window management. Via @unix-byte.bsky.
