Americans read at a 6th grade level. I operate a virtual museum with plaques at a high school level and struggle getting adults to understand. I am so lucky to have received the education I did. Many people struggle with the critical thinking portion of the tours. I see the problems.

Users are sadly not professional developers. I'd love to teach optimizations to people, but it falls on deaf ears because people don't accept their not knowing something hurt someone else. People who make unoptimized content shield themselves from learning, even if the fix takes 5-minutes.

I'm very weird. I'm also an artist. And a scholar. I've grown weary of the world's disdain for knowledge and education. But I'm always discovering something new and seeing what I can do to share that with others. In my own way, I suppose, I'm promoting weirdness as exceptionalism in its own right.

So hopefully one day we won't live in a world where half the population believes xenophobia is the answer to violence and medical illness is the consequence of life and the sole responsibility of the suffering. I don't wait passively for the world to figure out what I figured out when I was 12.

I loved museums and amusement parks. I loved how they made learning fun. I loved how they inspired people. I loved Pixar movies and animation. I loved how these things affect people. The allure has been lost on me over the years, but what stayed was my admiration for culture and how to best help it.

I was 12 when I saw George Bush veto a bill for stem cell research while I suffered with Type 1 Diabetes. I knew experts could not fix the fundamental problem of people not caring for or understanding each other. Math won't fix this problem. Education clearly has not fixed this problem, either.

When I wanted to be an artist, that shocked my parents. But I wanted to affect culture and people. Electronics engineering has incredible utility, but they won't affect society the way a good story can. I saw our culture fractured and wanted to figure out how that worked, and how to fix it.

My mother read to me very young. I read and wrote poetry when I was 5. All my life people were shocked by my accomplishments, or the way I thought about and solved problems. I was just me. Ironically, I don't like riddles because they're predicated on a fixed and often misdirected answer.

We had a competition in 2nd grade to design a craft bird. I put the feathers in the nest and made the bird out of drawn dominos. It didn't make sense to me how a bird of feathers would ever find twigs comfortable. I suppose if a domino bird could fly, it would prefer a feather seat. Won first place.

I would never play with a toy that didn't light up, move, or make a sound. I was always curious what made it work. Apparently, most 2-year-olds simply take their toys at face value. I wanted to make things, and not in the ways others made them: I wanted to make them better.

8/8 4 - An eye for an eye, the whole world goes blind. The infrastructure to harm is greater than the infrastructure to create. Building resiliance against harm, destruction, and chaos requires education. This is a long-term cultural goal and takes time, but the results are well worth the effort.

7/8 3 - Bias is ubiquitous. Social media turned everyone into a reporter of their own opinions, biases, prejudices, and discriminatory attitudes. Few have the education needed to escape the blinders of their own experience. Leaders aren't often ignorant but they often lead with great bias.

6/8 1 - If you find yourself uncomfortable, you're in the wrong place. There's no need to lie or distort it, just don't weaponize it. 2 - If you're a minority right now, people will be against you. The experiences of real LGBTQ youth, adults, and subcultures are undermined, rejected, and distorted.

5/8 To say nothing of the lack of solid historical and operational education that can serve a great deal to everyone, especially across major decision-makers and leaders who do hold megaphones and determine the lives of so many minorities. Here are some tips that will help you during these times:

4/8 The LGBTQ community and Furry Fandom can no longer serve minorities with clear intent, which was the entire goal of trolls in the first place. Education requires effective communication, critical thinking, and comprehension skills which are severely lacking among community members and leaders.

3/8 What happens when middle-school name-calling and harassment becomes the norm while everyone acts on unfounded fears and misconceptions rather than genuine truth and understanding? What happens when every court becomes a kangaroo court? You get hurt people and a lot of manipulation to justify it.

2/8 Modern cancel culture speaks truth to power with intention to help underserved people, but manipulators abuse the same systems and end up harming those same people, instead. The internet is filled with baseless harassment, name-calling, and quick justifications for hatred, harm, and censorship.

1/8 Weaponized discomfort is often used as a reason to discriminate and censor various people and communities. Infrastructures to harass minorities are significantly greater than the infrastructures to educate, accomodate, require prerequisite education before using megaphones, or provide recourse.

When smoking pot is considered a felony and a disproportionate amount of Black pot-users were convicted, the War on Drugs and laws like this were just a way to hide people's blatant discrimination and enact voter manipulation through an extra step.
