Tatsuno is severely underrated imo. Maybe it's because Kon basically replaced her in the second half of the story as the main friend but her tsukkomis were too fun. She also had more depth than people give her credit for. Justice glasses!

Seems like there's hardly any love for toshiko in soremachi. Everybody seems to love hotori or futaba smh

I always get slightly too much social anxiety to tag people in these 😅 Feel free to quote with a character you love! Soremachi was a great slice-of-life show even if it's faded into total obscurity now and Hotori is one of the all-time great chaos protagonists. I cried during the finale.

SoreMachi here with the best fake movie I wish was real

Panels from SoreMachi chapter 6. At the top "10 days until the premiere", followed by panels of a high school art class. At the bottom, a girl with black hair saying "Ah! I wanna see that!", followed by a girl with glasses saying "Sorry, but I'm going to invite Sanada-kun." between them, a poster for a movie called Gunhed vs Kabuki Quantum fighter.

Shinbo mentions in a 2010 Soremachi interview that they somehow ended up doing 400 cuts per episode 'nowadays' (in contrast to the standard 300 for TV anime. He did 308 for Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase episode 1, which he boarded), but realizing Nise #02 has 500+ (again, TV anime) is insane lmao

Happy Soremachi Friday!! It's a weekly celebration (started on Twitter) of posting the wonderful Soremachi OP every Friday and spreading the word of how awesome this anime is. Unfortunately, there is a 60 secs limit on Bluesky so this video cuts at 60 secs :') Maybe one day, the full OP...enjoy!!

Soremachi's 20th anniversary will be on March 30 2025! Just 5-ish months ago! I have a few ideas on what I want to do to celebrate this occasion and some which I would love but not sure where to start. A Soremachi fanzine is a fantasy dream but graphical design is not on my skill list...
