Some artworks feel like a place you return to when the world becomes too loud

Every commission starts with a conversation Not with references Not with a pose Not with AI Just ideas that slowly become something only one person could have commissioned Commissions are open

020

Sora Urei | Dark Surreal Illustrator @soraurei.bsky.social · 02/07/2026

The client didn't ask for a pretty character illustration They asked me to translate a personality into visual storytelling That's always the most rewarding kind of commission

Sora Urei | Dark Surreal Illustrator @soraurei.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Some commissions are meant to be understood immediately Others reveal themselves one small detail at a time This piece is full of tiny visual decisions that quietly change the way you read the scene

I redrew this face more than 10 times I wanted it to feel like longing, peace, and rebirth at the same time Like someone looking at the stars, missing a past they can’t remember, while finally feeling safe where they are now

Sometimes a finished cover only needs the right adjustment A client bought several covers from my shop, then asked for a few custom edits: • one alternate back-view version for a vinyl sleeve, • and custom text for another cover Finished covers can still become personal!
