iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Haven't posted in a while, but my birthday's on the 21st of this month, so hopefully I'll be able to get together the stuff needed to nab a decent PC for where I'm staying for uni HOPEFULLY that means I can start doing digital stuff again later this month

I didn't see this until now, sorry for the late response! I used a thing called Rebelle 8 for this, and it's a program that specializes in simulating accurate traditional art methods, like oil, watercolour, and whatnot I'm still learning how it works, but it's pretty intuitive

Just out of curiosity, do y'all prefer a "messier" art style or a cleaner one? For reference, the left is the "messy" one while the right is a more neat one. I like the aesthetic of the neat one, but sometimes it feels a bit too perfect? I dunno.

Another older unfinished piece I found in the archives. I was drafting ideas for a Canada Lynx character but I never got round to finishing it

Realizing I've never posted this little experiment featuring one particular wolf. This was one of the first things I made with Rebelle, and I think I was just figuring out how stuff worked. ...Still very unfinished but what can you do.

It's Rebelle 8! I heard about it through a friend and am doing its free trial, and it's perfect for getting analog-looking digital paintings

Just to let y'all know, I'm moving into uni on the 8th, so I probably won't be able to get much art done beyond that date :( I'll try to find some time to get some stuff done, though.

I'll be so real, I've been enjoying the workflow of painting much more compared to my usual clean lineart and cel shading. Everything feels more deliberate, has more personality, and just feels better to do. ...takes a ton of effort though xd

Second completed oil test. A bit rough around the edges but still really proud of how this turned out! (Pose based on the painting "La maja desnuda")

I don't usually do this, but my friend posted one of his first public traditional art pieces, and he deserves more love than he gets

Even a messy drawing means more than something generated by AI. That makes picking the pen back up worth it.

Eventually I learned that making something I dislike isn’t proof that I should quit, it’s just part of improving. And, at the very least, anything I draw by hand contains my own effort and personality.

Sopwall 🇨🇦 @sopwall.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

I didn’t overcome it entirely on my own, to be frank. I’m lucky to be part of a community where my friends and followers give me a lot of reassurance and remind me that I’m usually much harsher on my art than anyone else is.
