They absolutely did say that. They said I'm being abused because I'm "looking for it." That can only mean 1 of 2 things. Either it means that 1) my being abused is BECAUSE I'm looking for it and deserve it or it means 2) I'm imagining the abuse because I'm looking for it (which is gaslighting)

All the cliches and "supposed to"s around suicide fall apart once you encounter someone who is rationally suicidal. There is no longer distress, there is no longer crisis and panic. There's a calm, quiet knowingness. It's something not encountered often. Because it does not stay for long.
