As I've studied how people radicalize into political violence, one question stuck: why do people crave dissolving into a cause, group, or leader, at great cost? New book w/ Arie Kruglanski: "Feeling Big, Feeling Small." Ch.1: www.researchgate.net/publication/... Book: www.amazon.com/Feeling-Big-...

So pleased to see my chapter on the applications of the ABC Model in The De Gruyter Handbook of the Psychology of Terrorism! www.degruyterbrill.com/document/doi... very grateful to editors Clark McCauley, @sophiamoskalenko.bsky.social & @ginaligon.bsky.social

De Gruyter Handbook of the Psychology of Terrorism
This handbook offers readers an overview, including policy implications, of research into the psychology of radicalization, terrorism, and response to terrorism. The Editors, themselves leading terrorism scholars, introduce psychological theories of terrorist behavior, examining both risk and protective factors, the role of leadership, environments that can be identified as radicalization breeding grounds, as well as the way that emotions impact radicalization and terrorism. The book not only looks at recent directions of radicalization, and how we can assess or predict their potential for terrorist violence, but also at the latest programs of deradicalization and the psychological tools they employ.

This is the fourth year of a full-scale, brutal war in Ukraine that Russia started. And yet we are watching a wave of content rehabilitating Russia’s image for a global audience while Ukrainian films that expose Russian terror are being ignored.

“ABC and CBS are making a serious miscalculation. Their servility to Trump will not earn them peace, only greater pressure.” That’s the German professional association of journalists, @djv.de, calling on major US media to support their journalists instead of preemptively silencing them.

Republicans spent the last 24 hours trying to justify ABC pulling Kimmel based on reasons other than intimidation and threats from the Trump admin, then Trump goes full Col. Jessup & pisses all over the narrative & admits he ordered the Code Red because Kimmel hurt his feelings.

Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.

New— Nazis with giant swastika flags marched in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday with two police escorts. They shouted “white power” and said to the woman who took this video (reshared here with her permission) “fuck you, n***** bitch.” Police did not intervene. I cannot find local news coverage.
