I’m a software developer and have been having fun building tools to use with AI and getting it to do all sorts of things on my computer, but everything I get it to do it does worse and slower than if I had done it myself (not including the time it took to get it to work in the first place)

For what it’s worth, it’s possible you got demonetized over the Trevor project (which is worse). I remember a couple of years ago YouTube was demonetizing all LGBT-related videos under false pretenses because their manual reviewers were generally from cultures that weren’t accepting of LGBT people

I also think the “learning tool” idea is completely BS, because learning tools need to be reliably 100% correct, which is literally impossible for the algorithm all of these AI tools are built on. You can ask ChatGPT the same question and get different answers, but a textbook won’t change.

I used to be a software engineer at Google, and left right before Gemini came out to become a high school teacher for the last two years, and let me tell you: the only thing AI like ChatGPT has revolutionized is creating spam and cheating on homework (although it’s also decent for code search)
