Up and out early this morning to walk up Moel Famau. Gorgeous day for it ☀️

Heading back to Manchester after a few days away in the sunshine of Murcia. After losing my mum last year, I also got to escape the circus of Mother’s Day. Back to the utter chaos of our migration program again tomorrow.

Paul McCartney was unbelievably good last night. A 3 hour set! Took my 79 year old Dad who first saw The Beatles when he was just 15. Such a special night for us #GotBackTour2024 #PaulMcCartney

Empty stage set before start of the concert, beautiful, bright motion graphics are displayed on huge banners at each side of the stage

Spotlight on stage on Paul playing guitar and singing

Confetti falls from the arena ceiling to mimic snow during the song Wonderful Christmas Time

Beautiful motion graphics inspired by Sergeant Pepper are displayed on stage with a close up of Paul right at the end of the gig.

Working with silver tonight for the first time on my course. Only managed to snap one blade as well. Lots of finishing and polishing next week. Still a way to go until it begins to look like a smooth piece of jewellery.

A very fine metal blade cutting around a paper template which is glued onto a piece of silver.
The template is in the shape of angel wings.

The finished cut out piece of silver. The silver is rough around the edges as it requires much more filing and polishing.

Another jewellery making class tonight, practicing with copper. Now just have to put it all together next week.

Copper rim and square flat back soldered together to make a gem base for a gemstone. It has rugged sharp edges and needs to be filed down.

A gemstone base after filing and sanding, together with a ring made from copper.

Three items. A gemstone, a copper ring and gemstone base, these are all separate items. These three parts will be soldered and connected together to make a ring with gemstone.

Throwback to the time when delivery driver John wanted me to stay at home forever. This was just on the off chance he ever needed to deliver a parcel to my address.

A DPD delivery notice card which reads Please be home in future or collect from the depot, I do not have time to go knocking on doors, John

I’ve been wanting to do something creative that didn’t involve sitting in front of a screen for a long time. So Intro to Jewellery Making it is. Love it, like being back in metalwork at school
