YAY it turns out SD cards don't like it when you don't read at the right offsets lol. I think i also had some logic wrong. But i have fast (enough) mp3 decoding working!!

LETS GOOOO finally good god. turns out it WAS my shitty breadboard's power rails. connected jumpers direct between the SD card breakout and the MCU 3.3v & gnd and it instantly started working. all this time wasted trying to debug ugh

got a feather rp2350, microsd card interface, clickwheel input device (for testing), and i2s dac/amp in the mail today. Running rust with the embassy framework, and just got embedded-graphics working! i'm quite proud of the breadboard wiring

Got the display running faster last night & some progress on getting embedded-graphics working (still some weird artefacts). On the plus side I mocked up a now playing ui. Gonna pre-process the music/album art in to a binary library file on desktop, so the mcu has a fast indexed library!

Finally had some motivation to begin this embedded project last night (after a literal year). With a lot of stolen code I got this running with rust & the embassy embedded framework. I have some more parts coming to hopefully make an mp3 player

This was yesterday evening after scrapping the other version!! I was in a fugue state the last two days getting this patterned and sewn up. His ears didn’t get done quite in time and tbh this is all very temp sewn so I don’t think they’d survive the con. Will sew it up it properly after AC!!
