I don't find Krotos software useful personally, fine for those who do. I've never heard anything out of Dehumanizer I thought sounded good and every time I tried it, I quickly gave up on it. So I just want to set the record straight, no Krotos software was used on the movie Jurassic World Rebirth.

I was about to find this post on Instagram, and it appears this person was using Krotos Studio to do the sound effects for his own version of the trailer. Fine. But IF Krotos is running this as an ad, I think it's in pretty bad taste. They certainly don't label it as 'fan art'.

A friend sent me this, asking if this person, or @krotos.bsky.social had anything to do with Jurassic World Rebirth, the answer is NO, I have no idea why Krotos is seemingly running what may be a pretty misleading ad that sort of implies it. But to be clear, I do not use Krotos software EVER.

Well when you send a link to someone who is using WeTransfer, you're not sending them an encryption key, so for sure unless you are encrypting before uploading to WeTransfer, your data is not being encrypted.

I usually just live with the SM-Rec files to be honest. But what I do is as soon as I'm done in Radium, if I'm just going to keep those files, I drop into SM and do proper metadata, and the use UCS Build to do the filenames. Or I pull that material into ProTools to finish designing.

Today I calculated that I own 264 Terrabytes of storage. My first professional hard drive, back in 1995, was a 4 gigabyte and cost me $1600. Which meant I paid $400 a gigabyte in 1995. 264TB is 264,000 Gigabytes. So the storage I have, back in 1995 would have cost $105,600,000.00 dollars.

Been using Backblaze for a few years, but haven't really had to rely on it to restore. But it seems to be working great, and I think of it as a last resort piece of mind should my house burn down and all my local backups get corrupted or something. It's a wrap on the final mix for Jurassic World Rebirth. We had a great time working with Goldcrest here in London, and I'm really proud of the way this mix and film turned out. What a great crew, but what a lot of work. So. Many. Dinosaurs. The movie is a great ride, and I do hope people enjoy it.

Dual 15 key stream deck in a little custom case I got on Etsy. Midi Fighter Twister, Alesis V61 MIDI keyboard, X-Keys 16 key controller, a MIDI Rock and a Platane Joystick, set to MIDI CC's for use in Radium, then a Presonus Faderport, just so I have one fader, and then a JL Cooper Surround Panner.

Gutted today at this news. Don Hall was one of my earliest mentors, and I was his teaching assistant at USC. I am mad at myself for not staying in touch and visiting him more. The world lost a wonderful man, teacher, and sound supervisor. He was one of the kindest, generous person I never knew.

Nice, be really careful about the tripod mount underneath. it's very prone to cracking, breaking, it's a lot of weight to be held up by that mount, the slightly push on it and it will likely crack the entire case. I found out personally.

Be aware, a lot of us had pre-ordered these over a YEAR ago. Then the design kept changing. There were delays after delays with pretty much no communication from the creator. Most of us finally gave up and took our refunds. I wish I had faith he'd ever delivery this, but I have my doubts...
