Are you a V? Usually in the forum there's tickets for sale (I'm not helpful, I am not going)

Sonja Cori Missio @sonjamissio.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Hello. Some kid (probs not their fault, but rather the social conditioning from their parents) at camp told Max that boys can't wear nail polish. I told him this was incorrect, but he's still not 100% sure. So, if you are a boy, please send him a photo of you wearing nail polish.

@svupodcast.bsky.social my headphones hadn't connected to my phone yet and I didn't realize when I pressed play. So, VERY LOUDLY, on the subway platform, your voice just booms out: but that's just the devil testing you, Matt. Sorry to any Matts that were at Lansdowne this AM.

This whole snafu has had me defending Blatter and Platini. In my opinion, that's truly FIFA's biggest sin. Anyway, it's been 12 long years since I shot my shot at this. Feels like I'm still screaming into the void.

For more context: I live in downtown Toronto. There's a subway at the end of my street. They are more tamed than outside cats. Not a good thing.

To be clear: we do not feed them, pet them, do anything to/for them other than co-exist in the same space.

Sonja, what's it like living in Toronto at noon on a random Monday?

There's nothing funnier than a four year old with a furrowed brow, whispering "what the hell?" under his breath.

Sonja Cori Missio @sonjamissio.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Since spending the weekend at my parents, Max has taken to saying "what the hell?" Except, he always uses it perfectly and within context, so I'm just going to let it be.

It's Pirate Week at my son's camp and today they got to make their own treasure chests. In his? Jewels and fire. Feel free to use that for your band's name.

Thanks to AMAZING people, I reached my goal so I upped it to $100 for every year I've worked (10 yrs = $1K). But, here's the twist: right now every donation is doubled. So, $10 becomes $20, $50 becomes $100 etc. Every bit helps! I am so grateful for your support (financially or motivationally).

Sonja Cori Missio @sonjamissio.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

For sure. That's the bit I was confused about. In no way am I doubting the injury/severity, I just don't know what happened. And it looked like they (a MTL player) immediately put him in a semi prone position. I hope all is okay.

What happened to Berterame? I've watched it 10x and I still don't know. I hope he's okay. The immediate reaction, ambulance, etc. was scary.

To help me celebrate my 10 years of NYG, I'm raising funds for this year's Rally in the Ravine. If you're able to, please consider sponsoring me! My goal is $521.50, roughly a dollar for every week I've worked here (but, for the love of God, please don't check my math because I did it in Excel).

But, I'm not just a employee of the hospital, I've also been a patient here too. From ER visits to day surgery, seeing specialists to (still!) being an outpatient, this hospital really has been here for [a quarter of my] life.

Fast forward to today, where I've swapped the eyebrow ring with tattoos, my Blackberry for Google (begrudgingly), Spice Girls on my iPod to Spice Girls on Spotify, and a helluva lot more confidence in myself (as long as I don't have to deal with Outlook or Excel).

When I first started at NYG, I had an eyebrow ring, a purple BlackBerry Curve 8520, Spice Girls on my iPod, and no idea what the hell I was doing (don't tell anyone).

Did you know that this year marks my (cumulative) 10 year anniversary working at North York General? I have not just worked here for A DECADE, but I have worked here for A QUARTER OF MY LIFE. Link: fundraise.nyghfoundation.ca/fundraisers/...

What's been the best change/adaption about this Men's World Cup? And why is it "the whole stadium counting down from 10 to kickoff?" I hope we keep that. It's great. You're wrong if you think it isn't.

Oof. Even if the Toronto photo is edited, it's not that far off. It looks like every warm light in the city has been turned on. Or, that you're wearing high contrast orange coloured glasses. The sinister brother of rose coloured glasses.

RE: last post, this is what it looks like outside. Funny enough, that picture is taken on Lansdowne, 3 streets from me. I realize this is an edited photo, it just hits close to home. Like, literally. Speaking of, I can't take my own photos because my camera keeps autocorrecting the colour.

Sonja Cori Missio @sonjamissio.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Just went to Tim Hortons (as in, I was outside) and it felt like we were back in March 2020. So eerie out: seems dead even if you see people, no one is talking or making eye contact. Guilt hanging in the air as heavy as the smoke. Fucking hell.
