Made some miso soup for dinner for the family today. Considerably more dense than what you might get in a restaurant but I think it came out well!

Big pot of miso soup made with a mushroom broth, containing shiitake mushrooms, daikon radish, silken tofu, asparagus, zucchini, corn, edamame and scallions

Made Japanese-style curry today for the first time! Tasted good but was pretty mild. In spite of the 'Hot' label on the packet of curry roux I used.

I think my daughter might be a supervillain

A photo of my daughter's handwritten school work, starting with the prompt "my grandma was cooking a turkey. I walked in the kitchen just as she was opening the oven and..."

My daughter continued with "the turkey jumped out and started playing Switch! I said 'Silly goose!!' and I turned it off and put it back in the oven."

Here they are, on their way to the scene of the crime

The two bumbling detectives from the Adventures of Tintin comic books, Thomson and Thompson (Dupont and Dupond in the original French). Sporting short black moustaches while driving an open topped jeep and wearing their usual black suits, bowler hats and carrying a pair of walking sticks.

Literally in front of me on my drive home. Trying to fathom the thought process of a person who didn't want his bumper sticker to make him sound like a Nazi, so decided to camouflage it by...having it in German.

A bumper sticker saying "Ausländer raus!" Which translates to "Foreigners out!"

This part is...really something. Anyone have suggestions for replacements for Instant Pot, Snapware, Anchor and Pyrex products going forward? I'm not aware of that many alternatives 😐

Snapshot of an article on Semafor that reads:

Alex Olson, deputy director of
government affairs at Nest Point Associates - which represents all of the companies listed in this piece - told Semafor that the Instant Pot products, in addition to Lenox snow globes and ornaments, will be publicly available around July 4.

"All proceeds from any sales of these products will be donated to the Trump Library," Olson said. "All of these companies, including those not listed such as LLFlex and Anchor Hocking, are extremely supportive of President Trump and the MAGA Agenda, standing with the president with their efforts to onshore and show public support."

Sonos, kicking me off the only version of the app that actually works for our use case. We only use our system to play music off a NAS, and the new app still doesn't have local library browse and search!
