Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 08/01/2026

13 years ago I started Solicsalute.com with 3 new sound libraries. Today its my great pleasure to post about the 50th sound effects library released on my site! The Pool is recorded inside 3 different sized pools, from a large competition size arena, and two private recreational sized ones.

Virkelig uhyggelig tid vi lever i!

Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 28/12/2025

I recorded a bunch of indoor pool sounds. Swimming, splashing, dripping, diving sounds from large and small pools. Even recorded a reg lav mic submerged into a pool and ripped around, as well as pumps and other weird stuff. This is the demo: on.soundcloud.com/hkmaz2ERoj2m5q…

For those of you who asked: The omnis inside the foam cylinder are 2 x Mkh8020’s 😄

Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 16/11/2025

This come very close to what I actually hear with my own ears. Rear, front, below and above is not as clear but its def there, especially when rec in a controlled environment or studio. Cant wait for a proper winter storm to test out this kit!

Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 16/11/2025

Out testing an almost binaural stereo set today. For a long time, Ive been wanting to be able to record a more clear LR signal with a pair of omnis, which fit inside a blimp.

Its an IKEA product! You are most probably right 😂

010

Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 10/08/2025

Btw it is because its broken it says this sound. Its not a special signature IKEA stove hood sound 😄

Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 10/08/2025

I Think and hope the actual recording is more usable Lars. The video is with phone audio. The actual recording is made with mkh8040 mics and I did multiple takes with less people in the background 😄

Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 10/08/2025

Got a text yesterday from my brother, telling me to go to the local IKEA and record a stove hood they had on display. Today I went there to record it. The OMNEJD stove hood did not disappoint 😄

Analog Cameras – Sonic Salute

Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 18/03/2025

Sonicsalute Sound FX Highlight. This week is dedicated to the Analog Cameras library. What started out as a somewhat smaller camera sound effects recording project, quickly evolved into an obsessive need to find new cameras with different sounding shutters and winders.

Amazing how movies travel! Music for Black Pigeons is now screening in Japan and jazz guitarist Jakob Bro – the main character in the movie – is there. Congrats to my wonderful sound team, @larshalvorsensound.bsky.social, @javierquesada.bsky.social and @sonicsalute.bsky.social! #proudsounddesigner

Ja det er jeg oprigtigt også rigtig bange for.

020

Mikkel Nielsen @sonicsalute.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Sunday sfx highlight, turned into Wednesday sfx highlighty. Sorry! This week is about the Seagulls library. I cant recall how many times I have reached for theese sounds when working on a seaside scene.

Uha. Den er svær. Ikke noget jeg selv er stødt på, men kan jo godt være et instruktør valg. Jeg er ikke mixer og sidder ikke med det endelige resultat.

Sunday sound fx highlight Double Bass SFX. My first library utilizing the Sanken CO100K mics & a set of Mkh8020´s. The amount of versatile organic material in the set is great & very useful for creating suspense, & long stretched files that still maintain the sonic expression and high frequencies.
