streamondistro.lnk.to/Iam While browsing through my computer, I stumbled upon an acoustic version of a song by Lucy, Racquel, and Me—a version I had completely forgotten existed. It must date from 2018. It features just an acoustic guitar and Racquel’s voice. It will be available sometime in October

A short excerpt from one of my old songs to wish you a happy new year and send you my best wishes. May it be generous enough to bring you health and love, a dash of humour, lots of laughter and, of course, a good dose of music, because life is a song.

The influence remains very seventies, just to betray my age. Available for purchase on vinyl, CD, digitally, and of course free too on my website's home page. It's not available on streaming platforms, sorry, except for the two singles, but that's a topic for another thread.

Although it's highly unlikely, you may have missed the news that my new album was released on 24 December. It's called Heavy as Mercury, and as usual, eclecticism is the order of the day, with a bit of bossa nova, a dose of folk, a touch of blues, and a dash of rock.

I went for something more melancholic, softer, mainly piano and strings. The theme of the lyrics is the same: time passing, time remaining. I didn't keep the image of a dog's life, which belongs to Nathalie, but focused on the seasons that remain to blossom.

The ninth track on this album is the most recently composed. It is an English adaptation of the song I wrote for Nathalie, 3 vies de chiens, which was released a month ago. Out of respect for her, and so that her song remains unique, I did not keep the arrangement from her version.

On the lyrics side, since the terms “rock & roll” seemed to have a sexual connotation, I tried to do something a little suggestive, sung by a man's voice, Axel, a coworker, punctuated by a few lascivious female backing vocals, his wife.

Anyway, it was released in August, and the idea was to pay tribute to Elvis, on the 30th anniversary of his death in August 1977. So, on the music side, I decided to do a late 1950s-style rock & roll pastiche.

It was the 6/8 rhythm that led me to a blues arrangement. I chose a rhythm from my Toontrack library, and from that choice, the rest was clear—all that was left was to pull the thread.

This ukulele recording marks the birth of my latest single, How You Say Goodbye. The chord loop and the idea for the melody, the heart of the track, are already there, albeit in embryonic form. The rhythm is much faster than on the final version, and there is no trace of the future lyrics.⬇️

Merci. Every point of view is respectable But if I use a MIDI drum file, isn't it the same thing From the drummer's point of view Is authenticity solely due to the fact that it's the voice I used to be a bassist, but when I play a bass line on the keyboard, I don't feel like I'm betraying anything
