This piece is called "The Birth of A Star"!! Without getting too sappy (we have a character limit), it's about me. It's a reflection on my feelings about gender and femininity, about growing up and creating myself. The queer act of self invention. I hope you like it🩷 #queerart #painting

Omg there's no size restriction here, I can post the full version of this painting‼️

Painting of a star bursting from the chest of a figure. The figure is pink with blue shadows and yellow highlights, painted in a realistic style. The star is yellow, with multicolored light beams extending in all directions.

How do you feel about it as an artist? I want to expand to cons in the future :]

I LOVE Sakura con, and overall don't mind the split! It's kind of helpful honestly for finding things, and not getting too overwhelmed. That said I always visit both, but I always prioritize artist alley. I buy more there, and usually can more personally connect with the artists on that side.

Old watercolor from my archives!! I painted this at either the very start of highschool, or the very end of middle school, about 7-9 years ago. It's the very first painting I loved enough to make prints (and give them to all of my friends). It's great to look back and see where my work comes from.

Watercolor painting of a creek in the woods full of stones. Light is shining through the trees.

Never before seen: my face on bluesky Nice to meet you properly!! I'm Karah, the artist of this account! A little scary to introduce myself again somewhere new tbh, but this is me! I love painting, plants, and taking cute pictures. I make work based on the nature, queerness, and mental health!🩷

Selfie of me in a green sweater, pink dress, and eccentric makeup. I'm smiling and making a peace sign at the camera

Potential new travel easel??? I'm going to miss my studio easel at events so much this season, but I think it's time to retire her traveling career (if she ever got destroyed in transport I'd be devestated forever😭💔) #art #artmarkets
