Ask and ye shall receive: City crew was taking down a tree next door and kept me from napping today so I went and asked them if I could have the wood chips. I have never seen four grown men look so confused in my life but they said yes. So no sleep, but free mulch!

Did a little bit of spinning this morning. A beautiful merino/silk braid from @republicaunicornia.bsky.social The rhythmic repetition of spinning felt very soothing, I have a feeling I'll do a lot of it this year.

This test knit project is extremely pleasing.

A knitting project in progress, a gradient fading from bright turquoise at the front of the shot through blues to purple at the back. Behind it, two rows of little balls of the same yarn sit ready to knit some sleeves. This is all laid out on a black desktop with two keyboards partly visible.

I made this mosaic knit sweater out of yarn I spun myself!

Not making a lot of knitting progress today because the cats are being distractingly cute.

I'm about 2" into knitting the cuff of an intricately cabled sock in bright grass green yarn. The project lies on a dark green leather footstool, drenched in a sunbeam. Behind it is a zippered project bag made in a fabric depicting brightly colored Christmas crackers. Outside the sunbeam, the footstool slopes away into shadow.
Pattern is Coffee Cantata, yarn by Claws Out Yarn Co and bag by Republica Unicornia.

Unwashed dishes and a cat where she isn't supposed to be, but the light was so pretty I had to capture it before I chased Rowan off the counter.

A pretty dilute tortoiseshell cat in a kitchen window. The golden late afternoon sunlight shines off the snowcovered yard, glows against the honey-colored window frame, and helps us overlook a counter full of dirty dishes.
