You are only directed to go to Tantagel when you get her, like how in the OG DQ1 you logically wouldn’t be able to find Erdrick’s Mark without know your coords from her item. 000
Somebakedgood @somebakedgood.bsky.social · 20/09/2026On the flipside, there is the trade-off that after getting the Ultimate Key, there’s some chests in Tantagel you can’t get without dropping her (before the ending) Of note are the Snoop scroll (find hidden items) and Headman’s Axe (increase crit rate to like 3/8). 100

Later (before Armeggedon) she does get the ability to randomly cast a defense + hp recovery effect, which also allows you to soup up Kasizzle and Gigaslash while it’s active. 100

It’s honestly one of the simpler quests in the game (just get em low, get the mage some tension with psyche up/egg on) especially for a vocation unlock. But it still falls into the trap of having you repeat an action more times than necessary. 100

The fruits of exploring get you strength far more immediately in this game. 110

You have to face multiple enemies and have to fight extremely brutal bosses alone. But you win cuz you are strong and making it through just proves it. Royal Guard cowers away from facing monsters but when he realizes what’s at stake, he musters up the strength to protect it. Gwaelin’s Guard may be strong but she loses hope in face of a setback. she realizes that wallowing in regret wont help anyone 110
