Started with the legs, and yeah I messed up on nipping and neatening up the legs. Trying to practice the double-snip technique with the single-blade zippers but I just can't seem to get the groove consistently. I get better results single-snipping with regulat nippers and filing that down. :/

Alright starting this project today! Got this one as a gift and picked up the partner kit (the Lightning Buster) yesterday when I was going out to see the Urdr Hunt premier. Couldn't help myself, but now work through the backlog begins! Project stages in thread!

Now Baselard is now armed, and how! I also needed to get some of my accessory kits assembled! Lore in alt-text!

The model kit (a kitbash of the Dagger L and Build Strike Gundam gunpla, painted tan, black and orange stands armed, equipped with a beam rifle, anti-beam buckler/grappling hook combined arm, and Schvert Gewehr anti-ship sword. It's aiming it's beam rifle, and raising it's opposite arm to grab the large sword from it's backpack.

Codenamed the GAT-03R1-J Baselard, fielded by a squadron of rogue Earth Alliance pilots known as the Jackals, who fought against the Alliance's atrocities during the second Bloody Valentine War.

After being taken in by an enigmatic benefactor, their aging Dagger L models were given a drastic upgrade, into something that could stand a closer match to the newer generation Windam and ZAKU Troopers.

The Baselard grasps it's weapon with both hands, bringing it's point to bear against an unseen enemy target.

The Baselard, like the rest of it's lineage from the Strike Gundam, is designed for versatility, though the improved thrusts and more advanced limbs greatly enhance it's performance in closer ranges. Like this particular example equipped with thr Sword Striker. Like it's rival, the Windam, however, the redesigned shoulder prevent the use of the shoulder equipment modules from the Gen 1 striker paks, but have mo difficulty installing the backpacks. Allegedly, back plugs are compatible with newer generation equipment paks, even from non-Alliance models, but documented evidence of those in use in one of their operations has yet to uncovered.

The Viera, Kebun holds his sword in a ready position. He has tan/light brown skin, his eyes are green, his hair is brown, that fades to a nearly white color at the tips. The he is clad in a white surcoat, worn above a silver mail hauberk, accented with blue cape.

His arms and legs are fitted with additional plate-armor protection, large pauldrons at the shoulders, gauntlets over hands and forearms. His leg harness covers his knees down to his feet, ending in clawed sabatons, that can deliver nasty cuts to an un-armored opponent.

Kebun delivers a one handed cut upwards from his right leg to his left shoulder, swapping into an ox-stance position, from which he can parry or deflect a blow from that angle, or followup with a thrust to his would-be foe.

Kebun switches into a stylish stance, holding his sword held in one hand over his head, his other hand free and open, ready to strike or grapple.

Kebun drops into a slouch to draw his sword from its scabbard. The weapon is a sort of two-handed Saber, with with a fairly straight blade suitable for both powerful cuts and easy to being its point to bear for thrusts. It features simple, crossguard and a knuckle guard that provides a bit of extra hand protection that doesn't get in the way of moving his hands on or off the hilt, or changing his grip.

Vishumo Gerhardt, an Elezen, dressed in a festive Starlight celebration outfit, sits on a stump. A frown is on his face, his legs crossed pensively, hands collected in his lap. He is in the throes of a seasonal depression; lonely on a time of the year that he rightly should be spending with family, friends and a partner, though he's long been without the latter. That lack has eaten away at his psyche and his typical 'workaholic' nature can't distract him from it this day.

From his seat on the stump, Vishumo watches the festivities below, the joy that flows all around, but never seems to reach him. The fence before him, placed to keep onlookers on the hill safe from tripping down the hill, might as well be separating him from the rest of the world in that moment.

Vishumo buries his face in his hands, in a mix a frustration and sadness. What he wouldn't give to banish loneliness right then and there, but he has no wish to burden anyone with his troubles. Especially in this time of the year.

The red-haired elezen leans forward, taking a breath to compose himself. He wears a harder a expression, if only for a moment, to remind himself that he's not here to wallow in his negativity, but to spread some joy and cheer, and he means to do so, even if he'll have to treat it more like a role to be acted on stage.

The Viera (vieqo'te, by ancestry,) Kebun Swifthilt stands at the docks of Sharlayan. pounding a fist in his palm in excitement for the new journey ahead of him. He is clad in a blue and white armor, gold circlet with a sapphire adorning it, with a long sash draped over his shoulder, and long, floor dusting skirt flowing from the short fauld of his cuirass.

Overcome with excitement, Kebun pumps his fist, eager to get aboard the vessel and explore then new lands beyond the westward sea! Though he's liable to change into briefer gear once properly at sea, such a momentous moment befits a Paladin's formal accoutrement, at least, in his mind!

High Grade GAT-04 Windam model, mounted on an action base and equipped with a large beam rifle and a high capacity backpack to support it on the battlefield. This Windam focuses on long-range support, eliminating high priority targets like elite machines, ships or bases. The rifle's power is comparable to the Agni beam launcher of Strike Gundam fame, though its default firing mode produces a narrower beam that remains cogent over longer distances, possibly striking off-guard victims without triggering a 'lock on' warning.

The Windam angling its weapon to fire upon a distant target with a unique beam launcher. A large specialized targeting sensor is mounted onto the weapon itself, enhancing and providing an additional suite of detection capabilities to a compatible machine. Though not quite as powerful as a full 'radome' equipment, the enhanced sensors allow its equipped machine to act as a reconnaissance unit in a pinch. It is unknown whether the firmware is loaded via the striker pack's data link, or if a machine is updated with it through manual update in downtime. The rifle can fold for storage and be mounted onto a spare hardpoint, though curiously, the striker pack (or at least this version) has no dedicated support arm to assist in mid-battle deployment, though standard operation has the machine launching with the weapon in hand.

This particular set of equipment is codenamed as the 'Arquebus Striker' and in kind, pilots whose machines are given this equipment often refer to their machine as the Arquebus when launching during the operation, regardless of the base machine. Due to the size of the backpack and rifle, this configuration tends to be reserved for ace pilots and specialists, as it can tricky to maneuver, and the beam launcher's ergonomics are challenging to adjust to. The equipment is considered experimental by O.M.N.I., and development standards recommend using the newer Windam platform for deployment.

Unlike other Alliance produced striker packs, which can be carried by support craft and delivered to allies mid-engagement, the Gunbarrel IS its own support. As such it requires its own dedicated pilot to bring it out into the field, whether to deliver to act as equipment, or sortie as a mobile armor on its own. In addition to the heavy gatling gun, each of its four 'gunbarrels' its own remote, wire-guided, weapon pod, containing a railgun and two small missile launchers!

Vyram stands before a gateway emitting a dark aura, in stark contrast to the bright gold and white of the surrounding gate. He's taken aback by what he sees and feels.

Vyram recoils as he catches sight of some entity that lurks beyond the threshold. He is bathed in the purple-tinged un-light that emanates from the dark portal.

A look of dismay passes over Vyram, as he contemplates abandoning this gods-forsaken place. For all of his theories, what made him think his mind could pierce the veil that others dared not consider.

Almost had a disaster on hand when I was doing some experimenting with the backpack after initial assembly, but I was more or less able to fix it in the final build.

Damn polycaps >_<

I had to take the backpack apart in an attempt to remove the broken piece. This failed, and I put the joints back in on the wrong side and had to reassemble the backpack a second time. Fortunately, it was able to plug into the surviving peg just fine.

The peg broke off in the backpack, my fault, during removal for an experiment. Broke piece got stuck in the polycap joint, could not be removed and re-glued.

Burnout has really been at my heels lately, and been killer to my drive and focus. BUT I at least i got one thing done from my backlog mountain, last week!

Completed model of a High Grade GINN High-Maneuver type. Panel lined and with Light painting done to certain spots, not 1-1 accurate with in-universe linear. The circular pieces are supposed to be a yellow/orange, but I painted them gold instead, and filled the circles with gunmetal gray paint, or inked with a gray panel liner in tighter spots.
