This #megaplex2026 I had a dream come true and got to drag Umbra around the convention floor in a straitjacket! It was so much fun leading him around, knowing he was snug and safe~ (he even had a hood on underneath to make sure he wouldn't need to worry about being able to see!)

One way I can imagine these numerical instabilities arising is if somehow the divergence of the non-physical solution gets captured in the domain upon time evolution of your boundary. If you watch how your system evolves with time in the entire geometry, does that seem to be where things go wrong?

I think even if it isn't clear what the nonphysical solution should be, if your end goal is to model the dynamics of the equation then the numerical method doesn't care whether you understand the solution physically or not, lol. The understanding is a step beyond the algorithmic results. I'd try em!

a system, but maybe that would be a good place for getting some ideas. If there's a numerical method for handing the entire Wronksian for the r equation of a Laplace equation for a sphere, then maybe that method can work iteratively on your problem to find the solution while evolving the domain.

The moving boundary constraint is new to me, but if the non-physical solution diverges outside the domain of interest, maybe an analogy can be made with Laplace's equation for a sphere. One solution class for r diverges inside, and one diverges outside. I've never done numerics with such [1/?]

I've gone through so much trouble with connecting with people as time has gone on. I didn't used to have as much self-doubt as I do now. The fact that literally everyone fades away, from furry friend groups to both boyfriends I had, leads me to think that I am the common denominator here.

We still talk, and I don't hold his opinion of my appearance against him. It's just so painful to witness another person fade away. So that leaves me in my current position, with no online friends and my only memories of the recent year being those of isolation from someone who I thought loved me.

In early October of this year, I just had to cut things off. It was hurting me too much to continuously ask if he wanted to come over and always being met with rejection. He even admitted things like he never found me attractive and that he viewed our current situation as more of an LDR thing.

But I had a much harder time breaking things off, in the hopes that things would get better after some time. May passed, then June and July, and August. During those four months I saw him one time. Our conversations became much more one-sided, and I was receiving lots of 1-word responses.

That is, until the end of my first year of school. He and I hung out every weekend for the duration of my first year, and around May, I noticed he started putting away and not coming around as often. He cited burnout, and while I think that's reasonable, it still hurt me deeply to see him fade, too.

And with that move, I did find a new fur group, and things were looking up. I even got my second boyfriend during this time. Unfortunately, the local furry group didn't and still doesn't really do events. But at the time I had my boyfriend to be with, so I wasn't as worried.

And then graduation finally hit, and while I was sad to see my irl friends go, I was excited for the opportunity to move away for grad school and maybe engage more with a different furry community that was hopefully more active.

And with my senior year rolling around and being pretty much swamped in school work, I had trouble keeping in touch even further. My irl friends at least had some of the classes I was in, but I really overworked myself by doing two degrees at once. My social life was practically nonexistent then.

In spring of 2021, I at least started to make some friends in school. I generally look back at that time with nostalgia. I had people who enjoyed being around me and who were willing to hang out in person. Of course, juggling irl with online is still hard, and so even more online friendships faded.

And as I struggled with having to dump him for my own betterment, I had one of those online friends cut me out entirely from their life for my own bad desire of wanting to go back to my ex because I was lonely. The other friendships grew more distant as well in that time I was with him.

But even those friendships started to fade a bit. I got a boyfriend for the first time in late 2020, so I spent some time with him. But wouldn't you know, our relationship faded as he gradually started to engage less and less with me. To the point where he wouldn't answer my texts for over a week.

Being ostracized right before a major global event where you're unable to really meet new people hits pretty darn hard. I'd go day-in and day-out without speaking aloud at all because nobody ever wanted to voice call with me or anything. At least at this point, I had three or four online friends.

Second year of college rolls around, and I'll admit I made some faux pas mistakes with some new folks. I end up not involved with the new group of freshman, and see a good chunk of my friends from the last year leave. And in that same year, COVID started and I didn't have anyone to go to.

When I was in high school, it wasn't such a big deal. I had a great community on Furry Amino and was super great with making new friends and getting invited into new online circles. Then I went to college and there was a decent size group there and they generally invited me to things at first.
