Baker’s original flag used 8 colors, but we’re using the 7-stripe flag used from 1978-79 due to the limited availability of pink fabric, simply because it’s easier to match to a week-long event. We don’t hate pink, though, so feel free to think of the pink stripe as a bonus challenge if you like!

The original 8-stripe Pride flag designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978, featuring a rainbow of colors arrayed in even horizontal stripes. The colors are, from top to bottom: hot pink, red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, indigo, violet.

The alternative 7-stripe Pride flag designed by Gilbert Baker used from 1978-79. The colors are identical to those of the 8-stripe flag, minus the pink stripe at the top, which was removed.

This year’s prompts are inspired by the colors of Gilbert Baker’s original Pride flag & the symbolism he assigned to it. Every day pairs a color with its meaning, and you can use the color, the meaning, or both in whatever way inspires you. We can’t wait to see how creative you get with them!

To the left of the flag is a list of each color’s name. To the right is a list of the meanings assigned to each color by Baker. Read together, these lists read, in order from top to bottom:

Hot pink - Sex
Red - Life
Orange - Healing
Yellow - Sunlight
Green - Nature
Turquoise - Magic/Art
Indigo - Serenity
Violet - Spirit

A graphic stating Solavellan Week 2026’s guidelines, the first of two graphics made by @lorethinker, featuring text on a black background with a gold border. The text reads:

May the Dread Wolf Take You

This is an event to celebrate not only a most iconic pairing such as Solas and Lavellan, but to celebrate and connect the Solavellan community as well.

We encourage all creative mediums. Need some ideas?

• Fanfic (prose, poetry, etc.)
• Fanart / Comics / 3D Renders
• Virtual photography / Gifs
• Playlists / Moodboards
•Original music / lyrics
•Video edits
•Animation / animatics
•Physical crafts / Cosplay / Makeup

There is no one correct way to interpret the prompts! Get creative! SFW or NSFW! Choose one or combine them.

"Recycling" previous work is welcome. We encourage new work but we understand real life can get in the way. We want this event to be fun and low-stress for all.

You don't have to make all your works during the event week! Do what works for you. We will share contributions after the event as long as you tag it #SolavellanWeek or #SolavellanWeek2026

Content

18+ / NSFW / dead dove / sensitive content is welcome. Please tag and label appropriately.

Remember that this is a community celebrating in good faith - make sure you're checking tags and warnings before engaging with sensitive works.

Where possible, we strongly encourage the adding of alt text to your works to make them as accessible as possible.

No Generative Al. All works must be wholly original and created or curated by you, a real person, from start to finish.

Event Guidelines

Solavellan Week is to be focused on celebrating Solavellan. Please don't use this event as an excuse to tear down other ships or characters you don't like.

Polycules are welcome! However the primary focus and relationship still must be Solas and Lavellan. We are celebrating them, after all!

No hateful or bigoted works. Racism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, Zionism, sexism, ableism, and other forms of bigotry are not welcome in any form.

Happy Wednesday, vhenans! After a quick review of some questions we’ve seen, we’ve added a couple things to our #SolavellanWeek guidelines just for clarification 💚 #SolavellanWeek2025 starts Sept. 14th, so keep these guidelines in mind as you plan your creations!

A graphic stating Solavellan Week 2025’s guidelines, the first of three graphics. The background is one of Solas’s Skyhold murals. The text, on a dark transparent square, reads:

• No hateful or bigoted works - this means things like racism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, zionism, sexism, ableism, etc. are not welcome in any form

• Absolutely no Al at any point of the process - all works must be wholly original and created / curated by you, a real person, from start to finish

• Solavellan Week should be about celebrating Solavellan - please don't use this event as an excuse to tear down other ships or characters you personally don't like

• Other characters from DA can be featured in your works, so long as the primary focus is still on Solas, Lavellan, and/or their relationship

A graphic stating Solavellan Week 2025’s guidelines, the second of three graphics. The background is one of Solas’s Skyhold murals. The text, on a dark transparent square, reads:

• We welcome all creative mediums, including:

• There is no one correct way to interpret the prompts! Get creative - we're excited to see where you can take them

• "Recycling" your previous work is welcome if you feel it fits a theme - we love seeing new work, of course, but we understand that real life can get in the way & want this event to be fun & low-stress for all

• This means you don't have to make all your works during the event week If you want the extra challenge, you're welcome to do so, but again do whatever is most enjoyable for you

A graphic stating Solavellan Week 2025’s guidelines, the third of three graphics. The background is one of Solas’s Skyhold murals. The text, on a dark transparent square, reads:

• 18+ / NSFW / dead dove / sensitive content is welcome! Just make sure you're tagging and labeling your work correctly so that other participants can filter to their comfort

• Remember that this is a community celebrating in good faith - make sure you're checking tags & warnings before engaging with sensitive works

• Where possible, we strongly encourage you to add Alt Text to your posted works to make them as accessible as possible

• Our intention is for you to choose one prompt each day to work with, for a little variety. But if you want a challenge, you're welcome to combine a day's prompts into one!
