Twitch has been doing so many genuinely awful changes recently they're starting to make Youtube seem like an appealing alternative platform 😭

Let the closure of Bank in February motivate you to do crazy things in these games you never considered doing before, or carefully curate which treasured Pokemon you want to send up to HOME for the future. Don't let it become a massive panic where you feel like all will be lost forever.

Closing out my #RanchWeek hunting with a few little plants! I've wanted Victreebel for a PBR team for a while now, so this was a nice excuse to get a flashy one.

Another round of #RanchWeek shinies! I had a Shiny Glameow run from me back when Legends Arceus first came out, so I'm considering this a runback after all this time...

apparently the spam bots really like this shiny huh

SolarisSect @solarissect.itch.io · 04/06/2026

First two shinies of #RanchWeek! I mainly did this for Radar hunting practice (seeing as I've never really properly done it before) before going after some harder hunts I've been putting off for some time. Mainly wanted the Staravia, but there's a bonus 2nd Starly too!

This is just going to always be my go-to response to this kind of thing anthonymoser.github.io/writing/ai/h...

I do understand: you want permission. There's a machine in the corner wrapped in human skin that makes things out of shit and blood to look like whatever you want (as long as you don't look too closely). You gave one to your teacher and they didn't notice. Your boss told you to use it after they laid off half the team and it was fine. You fed one to your kids and they liked it. You want to know you can use it sometimes without me thinking less of you. You don't need me to believe it's useful, you just want me to be polite about it.

But I am a hater, and I will not be polite. The machine is disgusting and we should break it. The people who build it are vapid shit-eating cannibals glorifying ignorance. I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself.

"they were a minor too btw" seems to be a running trend 😭

120

SolarisSect @solarissect.itch.io · 04/10/2025

I also think this just fucks with me really hard as a writer myself because I've had to do so much due diligence to make sure I'm respectfully handling the topic of abuse in an OC's backstory, and then I look around and it's just... why is this stuff a joke to these people???? come on dude...

120

SolarisSect @solarissect.itch.io · 04/10/2025

that's genuinely disgusting, what the fuck? I don't even know where to start on everything that's wrong with that kind of behavior... really sorry you had to go through all of that. really wish this community paid more attention to these people, but using a certain convention as an example... ☠️

230

SolarisSect @solarissect.itch.io · 04/10/2025

I genuinely don't know how you can possibly look at physical evidence of abuse, remain neutral, and go defend the abuser instead, unless this kind of thing sociopathy has just been normalized to you for some god forsaken fucking reason. that entire community needs to be torn out dude

160

SolarisSect @solarissect.itch.io · 04/10/2025

wow that episode of diamond in the rough that uses SA carelessly as a punchline has really, really aged like milk. I was kinda hoping that was just the era of the fandom, but maybe he just never grew out of that era of the fandom...

Doujin circles are entirely entitled to care about actually being paid for their work-and while thankfully music distribution services have mostly fixed this problem and have let everyone win-I don't think people should be surprised when stuff like this happens.

020

SolarisSect @solarissect.itch.io · 15/05/2025

Being paid in exposure doesn't always work, right? Alstroemeria Records may have made the singular most popular Touhou arrange of all time, but how many people know them outside of that? Same goes for most other circles that had their "one hit wonder" of sorts.

120

SolarisSect @solarissect.itch.io · 15/05/2025

Yeah, that really made me raise an eyebrow as well. I kind of agree with the idea that ZUN doesn't have much to lose in regards to YT uploads. But doujin circles spawned from Touhou cannot guarantee return investment nearly as easily.
