NYS Dems are just citing their opponents Facebook profile for an argument. How predictable that the NYS Senate Campaign Committee can offer reasons to vote against someone instead of reasons to vote for someone
Democrat leaflet. "Michael Bolles wants to bring his dangerous agenda into our homes"
A scary checklist of three items: "vile racist statements comparing black people and Muslims to violent dogs; wants mass deportations and has repeatedly defended ICE's violent actions—including the murder of peaceful protester Renee Good; Election Denier who defended the January 6th Rioters" each of those items has a footnote, and the footnotes cite his own Facebook dated 10 April, 29 March, and 6 May, all of this year and respectively.
It finishes "We have to stop him. Vote no on Bolles by November 3"

Tiefling (Demonspawn)
- Size: M
- Lifespan: 170 years
- base MV: 12/40'
- Attribute Adjustment: Con+1 Int+1 Wis-1 Cha-1
- Darkvision: 60' as per Dwarves.
- Three abilities determined by rolling on the table below. Once a player rolls on this table, they cannot adjust course in their character creation—they must play the Tiefling. Too often we realize that we've made a bargain only when our debt is due.
- Alignment restriction: Tieflings may be as good or evil as they please, but they cannot abide the dictate of Law. No Tiefling may be of the Lawful alignment.
- Substantively demonic: Any effects that specifically target demons or extra planar chaotic entities apply to Tieflings.
- Fell Brand: Some aspect of your appearance is obvious evidence of some demonic corruption. This might be subtle in certain circumstances (obfuscation and occlusion) but remains undeniable and apparent under any inspection. The description of this mark is up to the player, but it should align with: pointed teeth; a forked tongue; cloven hooves; a small thin tail; black, red, or yellow eyes, perhaps combined with a feline or goat pupil; six fingered hands; a scaly skin; small horns on the forehead; an appreciation for either Linkin Park, Richard Wagner, or Lynyrd Skynyrd.

so weird to see this in a UN report
Their objective was not to criticize the principles of Communism as such. Rather, as Marxists, they were anxious to show that the system of government obtaining in Hungary was a perversion of what they held to be true Marxism. The first protests of such writers against the
prevailing repression of thought brought them closer to the Hungarian people as a whole, since
they found them to be suffering in an inarticulate way from the same lack of freedom.

Communism for Kids is so good
Since then, all people in capitalism—at least, those who don’t happen to own a factory—have been forced to sell themselves. Otherwise they have no money and can’t buy anything to eat. Everybody wants to eat, and so we have to go to work whether we like it or not. We have to make things—guns, for example—whether we think they’re stupid or not. And just like that, things rule people. Funnily, not many soldiers and police officers are needed to keep this all going.

Our wide-eyed student of politics learned also a great deal
about the state, or rather about its seamy side. The task of academic 'wisdom is to deny that the state is the expression of a
class, that it corresponds to a system of production and property;
to insist on the variety of mediating functions performed by the
state; to present it as something abstract, expressing if not the
whole natio~ at least the general will; to conceal the springs of its repressive action. Then, suddenly, when their colleagues are arrested, the students refuse to follow the routine. They do not go
home to sign a petition. They fight back. The state, then, takes
its elaborate mask off and assumes the shape of the gendarme
with a truncheon. When the workers join the students and things
get really serious, tanks appear in the background as the ultimate
source of power or legitimacy. It is to Baden-Baden that General
de Gaulle went to seek his real investiture among the army commanders. May was undeniably a month for learning. To take just
one other example, judges sentencing students to jail and then
releasing them a few days after to suit the government's whims
taught the student more about separation of powers than a hundred lectures on the principles of Montesquieu.

Ultras telling other ultras to STFU for a minute
Before 'revolutionary socialists' raise their hands in puritan horror, let them remember that in relation to the social, political, and economic conditions prevailing in Hungary prior to October 1956, even a Liberal programme would appear revolutionary. In such conditions, democratic slogans have an explosive effect. They were a great step forward. They resulted in the smashing of the totalitarian state machine. These demands had never been realised under the Horthy regime. The Hungarians turned their backs on both the feudal-capitalist dictatorship and on the Stalinists. The workers were not blinded by bourgeois ideology: while they supported broad democratic claims, they also fought for claims of their own. The workers wanted no more elections in which the Communist Party imposed a single list of candidates and where the result had been decided in advance. They wanted to choose their representatives themselves. They wanted the one-party system abolished. They had seen it result in the suppression of all opinions and all groupings which did not conform to the views disseminated by those who controlled the State. They wanted freedom to organise themselves. It cannot be doubted that such freedom would have led them to make conscious choices between a number of revolutionary parties or groups, and to reject both bourgeois and bureaucratic parties which could have threatened their freedom. Their reactions were fundamentally sound. Even their demand for freedom of the press was aimed at the destruction of organs owing allegiance to the State.

Just too good of a conversation to be shelling advancing tanks
It was the same in the streets around the Killian Barracks. A group of workers had got hold of a small field gun which they operated from the front of the Corvin Cinema, on the Boulevard. The cinema, Budapest's largest, stood back from the other buildings in the street to form a 'bay'. When under extra-heavy fire, the gun was run back into the shelter of this bay. A tram conductor was put in charge of the aiming and firing of the gun. He and the others sometimes pulled their artillery up the street, to the Barracks at the junction of Ulloi Road and the Boulevard. From there they could shell targets in Ulloi Road until forced back to the Corvin Cinema. During lulls in the fighting, the gun crew would sit smoking and talking shop - revolution was their business. "At one time the discussion became so absorbing that a couple of Russian tanks had got into the Boulevard and were getting perilously close to the Cinema. There was a concerted rush to man the gun. Some way behind them came an odd figure in a furious shuffle to get to the gun. Under his arm was a crumpled newspaper, his hands sought frantically to pull his trousers up from around his ankles. 'Caught with your trousers down, eh?' came the inevitable jibe. The laughter continued as they made the gun ready. They fired the first round almost at point-blank range. It hit the first tank which exploded. The second tank immediately turned and retreated, but was caught in a crescendo of cross fire at the road junction. It stopped dead. Firing ceased. Thousands of eyes watched the tank. Suddenly, the Russian crew clambered out with their hands held high. A group of workers escorted them to the Killian Barracks."

In case you were unaware
the tanks to pass near to or on the pavements. Molotov cocktails could then be dropped on to them with far greater success from the windows of buildings lining the road.
A 'Molotov cocktail' is a home-made petrol bomb. It can be a very effective weapon, even against heavy armour. The Hungarians found them easy to make and fairly easy to use. Screw-top beer or lemonade bottles were used. The bottles were filled with petrol and the top very tightly screwed on. If non-screw-top bottles were used, it was imperative for them to be very securely sealed. A piece of dry rag (which was sometimes soaked in methylated spirit) was then firmly attached to the bottle by, a wire around a ridge in its neck, or by strong elastic bands. Before throwing, the rag was lit. As the bottles hit the Russian tanks the glass would break and the petrol would ignite, often with devastating effect.

yeah I can see why folks like Grossman
The dominant view of Marx is to regard him as a student of and successor to the Classical economists; as an economist who 'completed' that work.[1] The result is a precisely formulated conception: the labour theory of value, as expounded by Smith and Ricardo, in essence leads on to socialism - a consequence left unstated by the theory's founders. Marx was the first to think Ricardo's theory through to its conclusion, completing the latter's final unstated words, as it were.[2] However, this interpretation begins to look extremely questionable when it is viewed from the vantage point provided by the critique of political economy, which posits that 'the development of political economy and of the opposition to which it gives rise keeps pace with the real development of the social contradictions and class conflicts inherent in capitalist production'.

Status quo… actually existing… productive forces… socialist wages, of course…
"Piece-wage is the form of wages most in harmony with the capitalist mode of production ... it served as a lever for lengthening the working day and the lowering of wages."
K. Marx, Capital (1867).
"It has been the iron principle of the National Socialist leadership not to permit any rise in the hourly wage rates but to raise income solely by an increase in performance."
A. Hitler, speaking at the Party Congress of Honour.
"Piece-work is a revolutionary system that eliminates inertia and makes the labourer hustle. Under the capitalist system loafing and laziness are fostered. But now, everyone has a chance to work harder and earn more."

Surely you'll believe me if I can point to Lenin solar-communism.neocities.org/library/book...
No one, I think, in studying the question of the economic system of Russia, has denied its transitional character. Nor, I think, has any Communist denied that the term Soviet Socialist Republic implies the determination of the Soviet power to achieve the transition to socialism, and not that the existing economic system is recognised as a socialist order.

Lol
A forcing-up of wages (disregarding all other difficulties, including the fact that it would only be by force, too, that the higher wages, being an anomaly, could be maintained) would therefore be nothing but better payment for the slave, and would not conquer either for the worker or for labour their human status and dignity.
Indeed, even the equality of wages demanded by Proudhon only transforms the relationship of the present-day worker to his labour into the relationship of all men to labour. Society is then conceived as an abstract capitalist.
Wages are a direct consequence of estranged labour, and estranged labour is the direct cause of private property. The downfall of the one aspect must therefore mean the downfall of the other

I think Dauvé's critique of early-ish council communism (specifically GIK's Fundamental Principles) rests on the conflation of time and value, rendering Engels' passage here nonsensical. Kropotkin's critique of labor-time accounting, which is incomplete and indirect, is more compelling than Dauvé's.
From the moment when society enters into possession of the means of
production and uses them in direct association for production, the labour of
each individual, however varied its specifically useful character may be,
becomes at the start and directly social labour. The quantity of social labour
contained in a product need not then be established in a roundabout way; daily
experience shows in a direct way how much of it is required on the average.
Society can simply calculate how many hours of labour are contained in a
steam-engine, a bushel of wheat of the last harvest, or a hundred square yards
of cloth of a certain quality. It could therefore never occur to it still to
express the quantities of labour put into the products, quantities which it
will then know directly and in their absolute amounts, in a third product, in a
measure which, besides, is only relative, fluctuating, inadequate, though
formerly unavoidable for lack of a better one, rather than express them in
their natural, adequate and absolute measure, time.

Ultra Jihad against revision.
Karl Marx was a highly controversial intellectual and revolutionary. Born in 1818 in Trier, in what is now
Germany, he grew up as the son of a successful lawyer and was baptized into the Evangelical Church when he
was six years old. As a young man, he studied law at the University of Berlin, where a professor introduced him
to the philosophy of Georg Hegel. Marx quickly embraced Hegel’s idealistic universal history, which suggested
the world is progressing through conflicts toward greater freedom. After completing his education, he worked
as a journalist and writer.
In 1848, Marx published The Communist Manifesto with his co-author Friedrich Engels. In the book, the two
argued that “the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles.” Their idea, that
recognizing the class struggle between workers and the ruling class is central to understanding societies, is
also known as Marxism (Figure 6.20). In addition to laying out their vision of history, Marx and Engels
predicted that society would eventually replace current economic systems with socialism, a system in which
the public, not private companies or individuals, owns the means of production. In their view, socialism was
one phase of the transition from the private ownership characteristic of capitalism to the completely classless
society of communism. They called for the forcible overthrow of current societies, a statement many
communists around the world embraced as a declaration of war on capitalism. The ideals of communism were
inspired by the abuses of capitalism that often exploited workers.

Both efficiency as well as freedom (freedom in the ordinary, external, volitional meaning of the word, i.e., doing what one wishes) refer to the immediate present. They are conceived as means to alter the present, whether by planning mechanisms in the case of efficiency, or by non-planning mechanisms in the case of immediate freedom. But the problem of revolutionary praxis does not consist solely of the capacity for action affecting the present, but of its continuity and extension into the future. Therefore, what matters is not efficiency (the ability to attain certain effects in a certain period of time) but historical effectiveness (the production of real effects that allow for revolutionary development to proceed towards its full maturation at an unknown future time). Nor is external freedom in and of itself determinant, a freedom that can up to a certain point be measured by “rights”, but autonomy, that is, the ability to consciously make use of one’s own energies and resources (including external freedom) in accordance with one’s own existence. This autonomy presupposes, in reality, external freedom in order to develop, but is not a simple result of the latter’s existence. Autonomy is directly related to how we conceive of ourselves, how we conceive of our needs and abilities, our nature; in short, it is itself the effective power that allows the self-constitution of the revolutionary subject, surpassing the stage of mere negative rebellion and converting the experience of passive and active antagonism into the inspirational source of a different kind of life.
