Watched Rock-A-Doodle! Hrm. What to say. It felt spiritually similar to Little Nemo in Dreamland. It felt like I was reading an old fairytale / folk story. Where things just kinda happen and if you ask any questions you'll end up disappointed.

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Oh right. Watched The Lair of the White Worm! It uh. It's an...interesting...movie. You really go "Wait, this was based on a Bram Stoker book?" I'd be curious to see a more faithful adaptation some day. But it feels pretty unlikely.

Watched Resident Evil! I enjoyed it well enough! The thing I kept thinking while watching was that I felt like I was watching a live-action lets play. Played by a guy who isn't as funny as he thinks he is. Which isn't really a criticism. But I did think "Cringe." several times. So there's that.

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Watched Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland! It was very nicely animated. But I kept thinking the entire time while watching it "Wow, this movie would be very easy to make completely non-verbal. And also would be vastly improved by doing so."

Watched Hundreds of Beavers! Holy shit that movie is really fucking funny. It's a goddamn live-action Looney Tunes-esque extravaganza and it's an absolute delight all the way through. Big fan! Might actually have to buy that movie physically!

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Watched Silverado. Good stuff! Really makes me think stuff like "Man, everything is a Western if you really think about it huh?"

010

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Rewatched Roadhouse! Still fun! Still one of the horniest movies I've ever seen. Definitely one of the most "dude movie" movies I've ever seen. Having full knowledge that it's DEFINITELY based on the Ken McElroy case does certainly increase my fondness for the ending.

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Watched Coyote Vs Acme! It's really good! It's one of those movies where it's so obviously really good, that I really don't have anything else to say about it. Go watch it! 10/10

030

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Watched the Japanese cut of Johnny Mnemonic! I liked it! Always enjoy some cyberpunk stuff. It's a strange movie. Because I really don't have much to say on it. It just sorta happens, and you go "Okay!" I think any bad rap it's gotten is undeserved.

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

Watched Shin Kamen Rider! Pretty good! That's sadly all I got for ya.

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

Round 1 of the current CM has been... Uh... Interesting.

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Oh right. I watched Stallone's Oscar (the movie) Pretty enjoyable! I don't think it deserved the thrashing it got at the time. I do think it's like a 6/10, but I really respect and enjoy how hard it commits to its jokes. It's just a fun movie. Good for a chill evening w/ pals.

020

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Watched Stargate (1994)! I don't have much to say about it. It was fine. It's one of those movies that I think influenced a lot of works I like, and those works basically did everything it does but better. So it felt pretty mediocre. Maybe I'll watch the shows one day.

010

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

Alert to all Yaeno Muteki and Gold City players! After much data gathering it appears both of these Umas benefit disproportionately from Auto Training! Why? Too complicated to explain in one post! But give it a try! You'll be gobsmacked at the results!

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

Watched The Holy Mountain. Uh... Hoo boy. In a lot of ways. I think everyone should watch it. And in a lot of ways, I CANNOT recommend that anyone watch it. It's. It certainly is. Like. I get it. Right? But. Man.

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Oh right. I watched The Last Starfighter again. Still holds up! I'll admit: I had, over time, convinced myself the movie was...longer? Denser? I dunno. I definitely thought I only remembered "the greatest hits" as it were. But it turns out that's just the whole movie. It's fun!

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

Y'know a thing I always want in FE? I've always wanted those Trial Map characters you unlock after beating the game multiple times to be recruitable in the Campaign after you unlock them. With their own supports and changes to the story? I think that'd be pretty fun.

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Starchaser: The Legend of Orin! Very strange movie. Lotta clear... Uh. "Inspirations" in it. But also a lot of shit in it that I recognize from the future? So was it more influential than I think? Or did it copy even older stuff I don't know? I liked it a lot though.

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 03/07/2026

Among the hundreds of discs I've had over my life I don't think I've ever had one die of disc rot. Far more likely for them to die from accumulating scratches, general wear and tear, Or getting stepped on because one of my siblings can't be bothered to NOT leave them on the floor.

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

G-Saviour is uh... It really does feel like a made-for-tv movie proof of concept for a live-action Gundam tv show And it did NOT prove the concept. Besides some amusing costuming decisions and ambitious camerawork, it's mostly just very dull and uninteresting. Quite sad.

Been seeing a lot of bad game opinions lately, which is giving me an inflated ego. So to keep myself humble, I have to say one of my bad gaming opinions. I'm the kind of guy who LOVES Tokimeki Memorial 3 and HATES Vagrant Story. And anything you can deduce from that is probably correct.

010

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 24/06/2026

Alright, well it's been going on long enough and now that I've got an appointment to deal with it I should probably say something. I somehow fucked up my ear real bad and won't be able to stream until that's fixed. Plus I'm still dealing with the repair stuff It's a real time.

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

We all know choco-mint enjoyers are a repressed people. But spare a thought to the humble mint enjoyer who is forced to endure the pain and suffering of the horrid chocolate chip in order to enjoy 99% of readily available minty treats. It was me. I'm the one suffering.

Beat Tomb Raider 1. Pretty good! Still holds up I'd say. Though, it's also clear they had zero clue how to balance the game. So I had tons of unused resources even though I missed like half the secrets in the game. I hope Tomb Raider gets more bio-horror someday.

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 13/06/2026

Watched The Furious. It's a very good entry in the "our hero's plan is to beat up 200 guys singlehandedly" genre.

000

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

Masters of the Universe is a movie I quite enjoyed! Overall I'd say it's probably like a 7/10 and I hope they make 20 of these movies and a 300 episode cartoon. The movie is at its best when it treats its incredibly weird world with absolute sincerity. Which is less often than you'd like.

010

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 31/05/2026

Well I watched the Backrooms movie. Pretty good! 👍 There's some good stuff in there. Might write some more in-depth thoughts after mulling it over. Might not.

Might be a controversial take. But I think making your zombies curable, or even just treatable, actually makes the setting MORE horrifying. Which, y'know. Is kind of the goal in horror.

Haha~ Y'know a fun thing about water damage is that once you start trying to remove it you're almost guaranteed to discover increasing amounts of it; to the point where you wonder if your house, much like the human body, is ALSO 60% water.

Solandis The Knight @solandistheknight.bsky.social · 11/05/2026

I should probably let people know I'm unlikely to stream this week. There's been some flooding in the house, and it's turning into a whole thing. So uh. We'll see how things shake out.

In an interesting twist, I have spent the past few days completely addicted to a color sorting mobile game. Genuinely only pausing when I physically pass out from exhaustion. So. Y'know. That's not ideal.

Y'know. The only Alien movie I've seen was Covenant. But I own the quadrilogy boxset now. So I should probably fix that. (I got it in a 50 DVD blind box) What if I just did a watchalong of the whole set? Could be fun.

I remember a long time ago watching a show where someone asserted "The reason beef and cheese go together so well is because they come from the same animal." and just nodding along like "They're so right." That logic will probably be stuck in my brain until I die.

Well then. It appears we've lost power. Not ideal.

I saw a mother turkey with three young walking behind her. Three young in a row until the mother stopped and there was a mini pile-up! Then it was all straightened out again as they headed in a new direction.

I was convinced into doing one of those "favorite character bingo" things. (I say "convinced", but really I just saw someone else do it and thought "That looks fun." and did it of my own volition) It's definitely not perfect, I did somehow forget some of my favorite characters.

A bingo card with "Favorite Character Bingo" at the top. The characters featured, in order from top left to bottom right are: Golbez from Final Fantasy 4, Exdeath from Final Fantasy 5, Shamir from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Warsman from Kinnikuman, Knight Blazer from Wild Arms 2, Crocodine from Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, Vile from Megaman X, Ravness from Tactics Ogre Reborn, Grigori from Dragon's Dogma, Cybat from The Cruel King and The Great Hero, Nineball Seraph from Armored Core: Master of Arena, Monoco from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Free Space, Kaede from Legend of Kage 2, Vector the Crocodile from Sonic the Hedgehog, Billy Kid from Zenless Zone Zero, Katarina from Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem, Danzaiver from Evil Zone, Nightmare from SoulCalibur, Canas from Café Enchanté, Mia from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Rak Wraithraiser from Tower of God, Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7, Mark from Volcano Princess, Luna from SoulCalibur 3: Chronicles of the Soul

Speaking of Diddy Kong Racing. I was always disappointed you never had inter-vehicle races. Like, I know it wouldn't be balanced at all, but I really want to race a plane with a car!
