Pretty sure I’m not bluesky-ing right. I check in with smart credible folks and get takes on the news that I really appreciate…but am generally left unsure of what to post. Anyway here’s some flowers

@jscreatures.bsky.social ‘s Window Gallery show, work, and words are beautiful and powerful. Their art “shows the strength of 2SLGBTQIA+ community and informs the public that, no matter how hard governments try to erase them, transgender people have always been here and aren’t going anywhere.” YES!!

Big thanks for many wonderful ways to shop local. Recent favourites: Emily’s delicious @secondspringherbal Spring Within tea, seen in a @bessejirch cup; pumpkin seeds and salad mix from @lindahenningsonart.bsky.social at Lucky 77 Farm: and wood seed starter trays and soil mix from Hillside Farms!

A bag of hand crafted and harvested herbal tea blend, with a stove top in the background

A pottery cup with some iced tea made with herbal tea blend

Clear bag of salad greens labeled “Spicy Salad Kerri”

Shelves in a window full of wooden seed trays with some small seeds sprouting in soil in them

My tallest vase yet! Standing at 20 inches tall. I saw an entire herd of elk as I was driving up Vancouver Island, and had to sculpt some big ones onto this piece. #ceramicart #Vancouverartist #ceramics #pottery #ceramicsculpture

We are donating a bouquet delivery to the @sisutheatre.bsky.social fundraising auction that’s on now, until the 23rd. It’s a great auction for a great cause, check it out!

Big tree walk the other day with Miranda, Jai, and Ayden. Miranda headed home today, leaving us grateful we got to share a couple of weeks and a lot of good chats and times.

Three people in the woods, near the base of a very large cedar tree. The size of the tree is hard to capture in photos, but it is at least 1200 years old.

Miranda Elliott’s ‘Soft Assemblages’ is a series of sculptures made from marine debris she found on local beaches and at the Sointula transfer station - it’s up in our Window Gallery now and is lovely, come see!

@sanders.senate.gov’s whole vibe inspired me to say “same Bernie, same” and also make this finger puppet for the Sweetest Little Thing fundraiser for @strutsgallery.bsky.social and @owensartgallery.bsky.social Lots of great work to bid on until February 14th at www.sweetestlittlething.ca

A felt finger puppet of Bernie Sanders with his arms crossed and a grumpy facial expression

A photo of Bernie that inspired the finger puppet - it shows Bernie looking really unhappy at the recent presidential inauguration in the US

Another photo of Bernie from the inauguration
