My experience is that most things you share will not be seen widely enough for randos to be accusing you of anything. Just make stuff, worry about audience later imo. Seems like a cart in front of the horse deal to be concerned about how something would be received when you dont have the thing yet.

Been interesting to see this push Blizzard to improve their obfuscation tech. And Jagex has managed to put little easter eggs and mystery games within runescape that take many months for players to solve. Its still there but a bit quiet.

Daemon X Machina is a good shout. It's a lot faster and has a different tone and vibe than AC6, but is fun. The 2nd is a different genre. Ironwing Valiant is an upcoming mech game i'm interested in but unclear how it'll play exactly.

DLC credits rolled and shiny charm obtained. DLC definitely knew better what it wanted to be and I appreciate that even if the goofy tone wasn't my preference. The rifts are fun and I'm enjoying the ability to shiny hunt for VGC stuff. All in all, good game. Shame the DLC never goes on sale.

The actual gameplay is very solid I think, and I enjoyed playing dress up and fucking around on the rooftops and in wild areas, and look forward to shiny hunting a bit. But wow I am genuinely amazed at how many unforced errors this game makes narratively.

Been playing Pokemon Legends Z-A while sick this weekend and I have two thoughts: 1. The gameplay is surprisingly good 2. The writing is bad even by Game Freak's standards. It's like a monster of the week type deal except the monsters are whacky trope characters. Why bro?

the issues have been solved, this team feels fucking insane. Hisuian Arcanine is completely broken this format, Farigiraf makes the fakeout bros sad, and this Mawile spread is the perfect speed tier for Tailwind and TR. Big fan. Only concern atm is using Mence+Mawile is awkward.

I appreciate Blizzard continuing to try to sustain their older games, but I really am not confident that theyre going to put out something quality. Vanilla is a pretty special experience, and if Forever ends up replicating that feeling it'll be fantastic... but I'm extremely skeptical.

Yeah personally I really enjoy these mechanics that create a risk calculus for doing the otherwise obvious thing, and both GRD and RISC are very well executed ways of pushing you away from doing something that's simple and otherwise very good.

Third thought; I think a lot of the complaints actually might come from a place of feeling it's too opinionated of a mechanic. I don't feel that way when I'm playing, but I think the folks I know who dislike systems like RISC/GRD just dislike systems that feel like they're pushing you to do a thing.

I've definitely heard complaints about RISC, usually in the vein of "being able to consistently block everything they're doing should be rewarded". Think it's sort of the inverse of folks who chafe against UNI's GRD rewarding blockers and pushing you to take risks on offense.

Playing and doing some buildcraft today in the new VGC regulation and I'm gonna take a while to wrap my head around it I think. Modern hard TR teams, Rillaboom, seed Sneasler, Psyspam are all new since I last played much VGC. Looks fun but I need more guidance to build a proper team.
