As reported in Euractiv's Agri-Food Pro Brief, AGRI committee members complained yesterday about not being briefed on the state of play of Mercosur negotiations. However, top Commission official Sabine Weyand did find time to speak to INTA members today - at the behest of the chair Bernd Lange.

In the AGRI committee meeting yesterday (2 December), some MEPs complained that an exchange of views with the Commission on the EU-Mercosur trade agreement, which AGRI chair Veronika Vrecionová said was originally planned, did not take place. "We are in the dark here," summed it up Irish MEP Ciaran Mullooly (Renew), a view echoed by his compatriot Luke Ming Flanagan (The Left).
