on the map, Spain is colored yellow, and so is Central America, and the west coast of most of South America.
Sweden is also colored the same yellow, despite never being a Spanish colony.
on the legend, Sweden and Spain both are said to have the same yellow color. only 5 other colonial powers are colored. notably, the first 6 are primary and secondary colored, so it's not exactly trivial to find a seventh color for Sweden with equal contrast to the priors. but like. there are in fact more than 6 colors.
also, presumably for colorblindness accessibility, each colonial power is also labeled with an abbreviation. Spain is "Sp." and Sweden is "Sv."

![euro design parody. allegedly, this is "Proposal W". it's written in German but i'll be transcribing it in English for my predominantly English-speaking audience.
we're starting off strong with an asterisk:
* the 5 euro note is being phased out, due to inflation
the first design is for the 10 euro note. it is very red. and it depicts a cookie popup, with a literal cookie having a bite taken out of it. "We value your privacy. We use cookies to enhance your experience, analyse traffic, and for personalised ads" [Reject all] / [Preferences] / [Accept all]. in another window is shown the preferences, where the user has checked Essential and Preferences, but not Statistics or Marketing. a third window has some other switches with unknown labels and a fourth window depicts a padlock icon, which would normally depict TLS encryption, but in this context i think it most closely represents the "Enhanced Tracking Protection" in Firefox, or similar features in other browsers. some antlines emit from the window with icons representing permission prompts to see everything you're doing, and know your current location.
the second design is for the 20 euro note. it is very blue and has a lot less unique details: it simply depicts the cap of a plastic bottle, unscrewed, but still stuck to the bottle itself.
the third design is for the 50 euro note. it is very orange and depicts the universal charging standard: a USB-C cable. there's a USB logo on the connector casing, and the actual cable is braided. we only see one end of the cable; who knows what's at the power source. could be USB-A for all i know.
the fourth design is for the 100 euro note. it is very green. it depicts government surveillance, or Chat Control. a prominent graphical element is the watchful eye right next to a smartphone showing a text message conversation. a padlock is at the top to represent that this is an end-to-end encrypted conversation. then follows some abstract text bubbles with no discernible contents. i think in the background is the Brandenburger Tor? honestly not sure why that's there. maybe it's a different monument. no idea. off to the side of the smartphone is some text with the following phrases: "CHAT DATA" / "SCANNING" / "ANALYSIS" / "MONITORING" / "TRACE" / "CONTROL"
the fifth and final design is for the 200 euro note. it is very yellow. it represents the General Data Protection Regulation. it has two pretty simple elements; firstly, a big padlock representing the concept of privacy or data protection, with lots of ones and zeros to indicate *digital* data. and secondly, there's a shield with the label "GDPR". it has EU stars with a checkmark in it. notably, both the padlock and shield are blue, unlike the note which is yellow. all the other designs have graphics in the same color as the bank note, but the 200 euro note has a blue graphic on an otherwise yellow base. very interesting choice.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:mgflc2hwqonaafnbb3xok6re/bafkreiggqixyilmpift3ngd6za6ub23evfoymw3jthzbj6odvxi5btuh2y)
