Better bike paths in Seattle than NYC? Fiction or non-fiction?
A picture of a section of text from an N.K. Jemisin short story that reads “… Gas leaks. Floods. A building fell down in Har-lem. A fatal duck attack. Several of the apartments in their building are empty because a lot of people can't cope. Her neighbor- the other one, with the broken arm—is moving out at the end of the month. Seattle. Better bike paths.”

It was a perfect day for a cat ride! Complete with some architectural history of some local buildings.
Cyclists standing around on a plaza that’s partially shaded from trees and a structure with a glass roof. A small dog (chihuahua?) is in a cyclists backpack. He’s got a black head and some white in his nose/mouth/eyes. He’s got his little tongue hanging out to the left side of his mouthA tuxedo cat named boots is sitting in a covered basket on the front of a bike. There’s a few other cyclists in the background. Many people and their bikes at a park on the water listening to the the ride leader speak. There’s a small shelter near the water and a large bridge in the background leading to west Seattle.

Yesterday, i joined the Cat Rides group for a walk and to celebrate Toby the cat’s 4th birthday. We started with a small exhibit of the cats of Ballard at push pull.
People standing around in front of a store. Two people have strollers with cats in them. Another person in a yellow jacket has a back pack like container strapped on their front that also contains a cat. A grey and white cat sits on top his owner’s cat backpack. The cat has a blue ball cap that says partner in crime. In the distance is a fenced cage filled with some ducks. A wall of various paintings of the cats of Ballard. There’s a lot of different shapes of paintings and different styles of containers. Below them are some art supplies in the store. A man in a green sweatshirt and brown cat hat pushes a stroller with a black cat who is peering out of the stroller.

Biked 65ish miles today including the commute and then a Cat Ride to get some ice cream. I’m surprisingly not that tired, and had a good time.
A bunch of cyclists standing around with their bikes. A view of Seattle is in the background. Cyclists hanging around at a view point that over looks South lake Union in Seattle. Some cyclists checking out Toby the cat who is riding in a special cat basket on the front of a blue-green bike and a woman in green bike shorts and a purple tie-dyed shirt is checking on Toby. Another cat ride today with some extra cats! Our route actually was a silhouette of a cat’s head. It was mostly a good ride.
Three cyclists in front of a house ands a jeep with a sun nearly setting in the background. The two cyclists in the center have backpacks with cats in the. The one closest to the camera has the cat hiding, but the one slightly further away has their orange head sticking out of the bag.

The cyclists on the right has a folding bike ands a small basket on the front with a very small brown dog. A picture of the sun close to setting with some clouds covering most I’d the sky except the area to the right where the sun is at. In the distance is some water ands a bunch of boats moored along some piers. An orange cat, pumpkin, with a leash looking at the camera next to a backpack. To the right someone’s arm can be seen stamping ride books with orange pumpkin the cat stamps. A picture of some cyclists standing around with a small building to the left abs a large building behind.

Pics from the cat walk today. We walked the waterfront down to pioneer square and then back up to pike place market. Such a beautiful day for this.
A red angular sculpt in the distance past a pedestrian bridge in a sculpture park. There’s a gravel path in the foreground that hears off to the right of the picture before cutting over to the other side. There’s trees that are still blooming along the path. A boardwalk with a few pale standing around. There’s a building and a tall white Ferris wheel in the background. The sky is mostly cloudless and bright blue with sine mountains across the water. A great and white cat laying down in a grey backpack that someone is carrying. The other is in a stroller pushed by one of the nearby people. Today i did the first Cat Ride NW of the year, which had 3 cats, some babies, and a couple riding a tandem bike. We stopped to see the UW cherry trees, and ended with an Easter egg hunt. It was a blast!
Some cyclists hanging around, most with their backs turned to the camera ands some bikes in the periphery . Center in the photo is a backpack with a screen door, currently open, with a cat inside. There’s also a bike that has a soft cat carrier in the front with another cat in it to the left of the backpack. A tandem bike from behind with a woman carrying a red and black cat carrier backpack on her back with a car inside. There’s some trees on the left. A picture of some large cherry trees with fully bloomed light pink flowers in the University of Washington quad, with a ton of pale visiting them. They’re casting shade across the area and the branches are long and twisting proving a lot of soft shade. Some plastic Easter eggs held against my shirt. There’s a variety of colors including blue, purple, yellow, and green, and orange. They were filled with candy.

Yeah UW stadium and Burke would be my general suggestion as it's flat, beautiful, and very low stress, but obviously much longer. 148th is doable, but the returning involves some steeper climbs. From LR to LFP consider: 155th->15th->150th->27th->155th->156th->37th->165th->Burke Gilman N.
Bike route from the 148th lightrail station venturing slowly down the hill to lake forest park. It's roughly 3.8 miles and mostly residential streets and bike lanes.

That one and the Kent-Des Moines hwy over the Green river are the ones I know for sure (the latter is a short, hanging wood crossing, but it has seats!). I thought I heard of one in eastern WA, but can't find it (if it exists). In Japan, they have a larger 2-story bridge on their 70km trail.

There is an art to the AI generated images that superficially look real but get weirder the longer you look. I'm not talking about extra fingers weird. The genius in is that if you ask an adult to make the picture weird, most wouldn't do these things ( a kid might though).
A weird AI generated image from an amazon product of four people eating some berry pie. On the right is an older gentlemen with a white beard and a tan sweater with his fork stuck into the side of a tiny slice of pie sitting on a plate. Left of him is a guy wearing a a blue denim shirt with a bite of pie on a fork, but no plate and a mug full of coffee looking drink. None of the pie slices on the table are missing any pie so it's unclear where his pie even came from. Then there's a woman in a reddish shirt with a piece of pie on a plate and no fork. And on the far left is a little girl holding a fork in the weirdest possible way stuck diagonally into a tiny piece of pie as if she's pushing the bite of pie away from her. She also may be missing her left arm after the elbow because there's bends in the shirt but no forearm visible anywhere. It's unclear if all of the people have their eyes closed or are staring down at the little girl who clearly doesn't know how to eat pie. They are all smiling pretty big though.

In the center is the pie, but there's only one slice missing from the pie but the entire crust is intact. The slice missing appears to be less than all of the pieces on the table, but is larger than any single slice. Also all of the cut pieces all have crust, so it's unclear where the fuck the pie came from.

Also on the table is a random salad and a bowl of some unknown food thing to the left of the older gentleman on the right side of the pic.

I saw a placard for “winter banana” apples at the store a week ago but no apples. Today they had a few and they do in fact have a very slight banana flavor. In a few bites it almost tasted like a hint of melon.

A view of the mini mart city park from across the street in the bike trail. The road to the left is the park is closed and there’s some tents and a band over there playing. A slice of cake in a box from deep sea sugar and salt. The cake has four layers of cake with cooked apple filling and their cream cheese frosting between each layer. There’s a salted caramel that has been poured on the top of it that has started to run off in the box. It was delicious. A green field with patches of dead grass and a small building in the distance. There are tall trees on the edges of the field. There’s a few picnic tables and garbage cans dotted throughout.

the inside of a small building with an older, bearded man smiling very large at the camera. There are 3 or so pride flags on the wall behind him used for decoration. In the corner of the room is another gentlemen half laying and half sitting at the edge of the pride flags when the wall decoration changes to nike logo and a partial flower or something.
