Inspired by interaction at #PeninsulaCoop today. Till sign indicated cashier was deaf. After I paid, despite my very rusty #ASL, attempted to sign my name. Apparently not as bad as I thought, as she grinned, clapped, cheered, & hi-5d me!😁🩷 Definitely going to brush up on my sign language now! 😁😊👍

At #AllCandidates meeting @ #SD63 schl in #CSaan, organisers followed #fireregs, refused meeting to proceed due to over-capacity. At All-Candidates meeting @ #SD61 schl, organisers & school staff allowed over-capacity AND allowed ppl to sit on stairs, contrary to regs. #yyjpoli #firesafety #munipoli

Multi-veh crash, Elk Lake Dr near Commonwealth driveway. By amount of debris under one vehicle, they're not "moving off to the side". And due to traffic island, nb traffic can't go around. @bctransit.com Supervisor first on scene.👍 Then SPD, then SFD. So all under control. #yyjtraffic #Saanich

Five ~M5 #earthquakes off #VancouverIsland between 855pm last night and 235am this morning, is not a reason to panic. It's an opportunity to get #prepared! #Preparedness will alleviate some of your stress and worry. If you're not prepared, it's okay - today is a great day to start.👍

Melissa @modacitylife.com, it was great to hear you on the Living Planet episode, "Why aren't more women cycling?". Not sure when it was recorded, but it just aired here on the West Coast.🙂👍🚲

It's been quite a night for northern #VancouverIsland - 2 more #earthquakes! M5.0 163kms w of #PortMcNeill. M5.2 190kms wsw of Port McNeill. A good reminder for #preparedness.

PSA for #munipoli #yyjpoli: Scammers abound, folks. 😬 Received this, but just spoke to Chris Coleman himself, who confirmed they are NOT holding an event. If something seems off, it probably is. Check and confirm. 👍

Kudos to @elenoresturko.bsky.social for sticking to her values. Iirc, Rustad blamed HER for the caucus/party's problems, yet the party managed to continually infight and implode without her. How anyone would go back to the #LeopardsEatingPeoplesFacesParty beggars belief. #bcpoli

Hard to show just how thick the smoke is in #Saanichton right now.🌫️ Guessing it's from the #MountJack fire near #Sooke. But by the level of smoke, you'd think the #wildfire was more an interface fire in #CSaan. Choking smoke drifting through neighbourhoods.😬 #BCwildfire

Yesterday afternoon in Costco, random guy loudly announces: “Seems we have a ___ problem here”, naming an ethnicity.🙄 The store was jammed with ppl of ALL persuasions.👍 By your attitude, rando, it actually seems we have a YOU problem here. ➡️Perhaps Canada 🇨🇦 is not the place for you.

Very impressed with the safety measures implemented by Facility Manager Jenn & staff at #SaanichCommonwealth for an incident there. Pylons, highviz vests, blockades, + staff to redirect patrons around a vehicle crash in driveway = ensuring safety of all. Well done! #Saanich @saanichbc.bsky.social

Not sure it fits the definition of irony, but seeing a vehicle with Green Party/Elizabeth May bumper sticker, parked in a bike lane, sure comes close. **Not a hater** - this isn't the party or the MP, but questions the true convictions of the driver.🤨🤔 #DontParkInBikeLanes

Admittedly, I thought @andrewmueller.bsky.social was a little extreme in his views on people who insist on playing audio from their devices w/out earphones. Currently sitting in a fast food place, subjected to loud playing of some stupid "King of the Ring" fight, I'm now in complete agreement. 🙄
