As of two hours ago, MAW 2026 (plus a work shift) is in the books for me!
For a first-year con, and me as first-year staff, it was one hell of an experience. Working in a coat closet is Very Fun™.
Maybe I bring the trombone for Rawring 20s next year...
![[Panel 1-3] Alya, a blond girl in summertime clothing, walks the coastline. She admires the sunset on the ocean horizon, then she notices something strange. There is a small red gem in the sand.
[Panel 4-7] Alya picks up a gem and fails to notice the small sound that it’s making, like a quiet hiss. Then the gem shoots from her hand and to her chest! It sticks to the space just bellow her collar bone. Alarmingly, Alya starts turning into a bat! Her fingers extend and grow membranes between them. Brown fur grows over her body -and she shrinks!
[Panel 8-9] Shrinking out of her clothing, Alya pushes off her too-big sun hat and wriggles her digitigrade legs out of her shorts.
[Panel 10-12] Alya flaps out of her shirt. She’s a full animal now, a fruit and vampire bat hybrid! The gem on her chest sparkles. Alya has calmed down now. She admires the gem and the lovely wings and fur she now has.
