Won't pass. Politics and churches are the last bastions criminals use to make an "honest" living. And you see what happens with churches.

I can just imagine Trump's face when Saint Peter tells him he can't go into heaven because Biden's Book of Life was already approved. That being said, I would have to seriously question all things holy and sacred if Trump actually found a way in. Like him actually getting a third term.

The wealthiest crave power since they can buy anything that they want. There is no greater addiction than the power to subjugate "lesser beings" to fickle whims and sinful desires and argue that Darwinism or religion justifies it. We had safeguards in place to stop this BS. We need to put them back.

Not the administration, but Biden himself. The Supreme Court gave him immense power we hoped he would positively use. He just didn't have the intestinal fortitude to be called tyrant, fearing how the Right would respond. He chose to have faith in the electorate. It proved to be a bad gamble.

I haven't figured out what the Dems game is, but there is a game. Historically, the Dems overthink things. Reps overplay their hands. I am not comfortable with the moves either party is making now. This isn't just about the Epstein files. And why was Bernie at the podium instead of Schumer? Vexing.

You completely missed my points. Each one. But that is ok. I am farther from far left than you appear to be from far right. Consequently, we will never agree on anything. And that is ok. At least for me. Because I can point fingers at both parties as to what each is doing wrong. Obviously you can't.

It's not the first time I've been called that. But consider this. Either-or thinking is what got us into this mess. Seeing things from a both-and perspective is the way out.

First of all, I love your passion. Second, you're absolutely correct. The lopsided media machine that is in place is precisely what has to be overcome. It's just hard to do that in a piecemeal fashion that doesn't get enough ears and eyeballs.

I'm not dismissing individual efforts. In many cases, they have been quite strong. They just aren't collective in a fashion that grabs the attention of folks on the sidelines. Republicans are more fearful of the masses than they are the collective leadership of the Democratic party.

Actually, no. As an independent (with strong leanings both ways) who can see both parties' pov, all I want are two things. 1. A fight where fire is fought with fire. 2. For Dems to stop preaching about having solace in knowing that they play by the rules when Reps frequently play with the rules.

To all the people who actively worked on the development of AI and got terminated. You can't tell me that you didn't see it coming. How did you unconsciously work on developing the replacement for your job? Moreover, actively develop the thing that would wipe out the employment of so many others.

Why are Democrats always appearing to be so toothless and never seem to get anything done? My theory is that they always want everyone to play in the sandbox together. Well, some people don't like sand. Some don't want to share the toys. Others just don't want to play with YOU. So, act accordingly.

You have touched on a bigger point. Why aren't Democrats doing things on their own during the shutdown beyond AOC and Bernie? It's not like the Republicans can do anything about it. They are in recess.

Large agri-business is relatively silent on the farming issue. Why? Citizens United. Fade into the background like Homer Simpson. Let the few remaining independent farmers fight for a bailout. Then, agri-business will jump in front of the line, demanding huge bailout $, because they are farmers too.

It shouldn't be a surprise. Less stress on people and their finaces/responsibilities and proximity to the home matters for many people's sense of work-life balance.

"The way that people talk about money, the way that people pursue money, it's a lot more open and a lot more, in some ways, grotesque." There is nothing wrong with earning, making, or having money. But the lengths that those who have a lot of it go to get more seem like no rule acts of addiction.

Swamps are important ecosystems with many positive qualities. Trump wanted to drain the swamp just to let destructive invasive species who pass for humans in. The swamp needs draining again.

In linear algebra, a single line can have infinite names. Each one has different features with a common singular core. x + y = 0 equals 2x + 2y = 2 The poster's statement is true logically. But its application to people is as terrifying as it is interesting. So, split personalities aren't split?

This isn't the right question. Pursing wealth isn't bad. Having money isn't bad. It's whether having so much is necessary and whether the wealthy sincerely and meaningfully contribute to society in ways beyond enriching themselves. When they don't, it isn't bad. It's a problem that needs addressing.

HE abandoned its purpose in the late 1970s. HE was meant to be a place where a person could grow as an individual, understand the world, and learn things they otherwise wouldn't. When it only became about ROI, instead of developing human capital, it was doomed because it couldn't guarantee a ROI.

Cirularity is merely an attempt to ensure AI's survival by having such an influence on the stock market that it results in the industry being too financially important to fail, just like financial institutions. And if it does, they will only expect to be bailed out - like financial institutions.

I agree. He had the power to do what he wanted. He knew he wouldn't use it. Why? In the US, there are no kings. Even if someone is given the power to be one. It's honorable. But in some people's eyes, it's incredibly stupid. They are wrong.

Capitalism needs to get off is backside and start producing some No Kings merch. Having said that, when the house and senate trunk over, we need to codify No Kings Day as a holiday on Trump's birthday every year. That way, the red folks won't be able to rewtite or white wash its meaning.

When colonialism was en vogue, the first places the colonizers would ransack, loot, and destroy were libraries and museums. They were the first steps in rewriting colonial history and subjugating entire generations to a new "manufactured truth." This administration wants to do the same at home.

This is an intractable problem. Most of the homelessness problems are outside of the purview of schools. We75 can't do anything that benefits the children that don’t benefit the parents. But, we don't want to help parents who won't put their children first. Determining who will or won't is hard.

Music playing, partying, praying, and dancing Pikachus make the admin's attempt to paint Portland as a war zone laughable. Nothing is more infuriating to them than watching Portlanders behaving this way. It's like Animal House. They are on double (not so secret) probation, but don't give a damn.

It's bigger than this. AI is grounded on info we create. Once consumed, it needs more. And that info is what and who we are as people, which will ultimately be used for exploitation and control. Imagine a world where Philip K. Dick and George Orwell's visions of the future are merged. A nightmare.

All are fair game, at any given time, for any reason. As a warning, conservatives have one unique ability that liberals lack. That is the ability to eat one of their own and make them disappear when they aren't in lock step. You MAGA supporters who don't like what's happening are on the menu too.
