Truth is, when I'm wearing socks that I knitted and I'm covered with a blanket I crocheted, it reminds me why I love both those crafts so much. Making something people can use is the best! #knitting #crochet
A cozy evening scene shows a pair of feet resting on a sofa, wrapped in a thick crochet blanket. The blanket features intricate geometric motifs in dark blue and beige, forming symmetrical patterns reminiscent of ancient or tribal designs. The texture is dense and even, with clear stitch definition. The person’s feet are covered in hand‑knitted socks striped in teal, coral, and grey tones, adding a cheerful contrast to the muted blanket.

He's been like this for hours 🙄 #dogs #greyhounds #crochet #autumn
A greyhound lies on a brown leather sofa, mostly covered by a crocheted blanket with a bookshelf motif. The blanket is navy blue and cream, featuring rows of stylized books, geometric patterns, and the words “SAM ADAM” in one section. Only the dog’s head and one paw peek out from under the blanket. A wooden side table sits nearby, and soft daylight filters through a window, giving the scene a cozy, peaceful atmosphere.

I'm now finally back to my one #knitting, one #crochet monogamous ways, having briefly had five things at a go during one stupid period 😅 So, time to focus on finishing this Legend of #zelda scarf. It's a beast of a project but I think it'll look superb once finished. Onwards! #nintendo
A rectangular double‑knit panel in green and yellow yarn rests on someone’s lap. The design shows a Zelda‑inspired scene: the Master Sword standing upright at the bottom, surrounded by decorative motifs, and a Guardian figure looming above with its glowing eye and segmented limbs. Ornate borders frame the composition, echoing ancient Sheikah patterns. The stitches are neat and dense, with crisp colour contrast. A small tag at the top reads “KEEP GOING!” in bright letters, adding a playful encouragement.

Finished #knitting these socks today. I love the papaya yarn!
A relaxed indoor scene showing two feet wearing hand‑knitted socks with cheerful horizontal stripes in yellow, orange, gray, and white. The person is dressed in blue‑green plaid pajama trousers and has their feet propped up on a brown leather surface. Behind them, shelves of books and records and soft daylight through an arched window add a cozy, weekend‑morning atmosphere.

Saturday vibes… #dogs
A close-up side profile of a greyhound resting its head on a soft, beige blanket. The dog’s fur is black with silvery grey around the muzzle, showing gentle aging. Its eye is half-open, calm and reflective, while the background fades into warm tones of cream and blue, giving the scene a peaceful, cozy atmosphere.

If anyone's interested, I've made a quick video comparing the middle part of Oxygene 1 from the Trilogy release (2016) vs the upcoming remaster: #music

Jean-Michel Jarre's Oxygene 1 Trilogy vs 50th Remaster comparison
A quick video comparing the middle section of Oxygene 1, from the Trilogy released in 2016, to the upcoming 50th anniversary remaster out in November 2026. To appreciate this fully, listen through headphones and keep the volume static throughout the whole video. You'll notice just how much louder the Trilogy version is, and how cramped all the sounds are. Whereas in the upcoming remaster, the volume is much lower allowing for much more dynamic range and the sound stage is much wider, so you feel the sounds travelling around properly. A very exciting time to be a Jarre fan!

I've only been on and off trying for seven years, but I finally managed to Slay The Spire! Without spoiling, I mean beating the real, final boss. Tough but I'm happy I finally did it \o/
A “Victory!” banner appears at the center of a Slay the Spire screen, surrounded by swirling pink and orange glowing eye symbols against a black background. Below the banner is a button labeled “A Proceed.” The top interface shows the player “Ali the Watcher” with 4/70 health, 168 gold, and several relic icons, indicating a hard‑won triumph after a long battle.

A quiet country road curves gently through dense woodland. Tall trees with lush green leaves arch overhead, forming a partial canopy that filters soft daylight. I didn't plan it but the yarn pattern on these socks has lined up perfectly. Very satisfying ☺️ #knitting
A pair of hand‑knitted socks lies on a light wooden surface. The socks feature bright self‑striping yarn in repeating bands of lime green, orange, pale blue, white, and dark gray. Near the heel, two metal knitting needles joined by a blue cable are inserted into the stitches, with a short tail of yarn trailing off—showing that the knitting is still in progress. The texture is smooth stockinette, and the stripes align neatly across both socks.

Way before TED talks made slide-less presentations popular, I realised that no one cares about slides so whenever I've had to present or teach or whatever, I never use slides. It also forces the audience to actually look at you and listen 😅
A four-panel comic from Work Chronicles humorously depicts a painfully long meeting presentation.
Panel 1: A presenter stands before a screen labeled “PRESENTATION,” telling two seated colleagues, “For this 1-hour meeting.”
Panel 2: The presenter announces, “I have made a presentation with 210 slides,” while the screen shows “Slide 1 of 210.”
Panel 3: The presenter gestures toward a slide crammed with repetitive “BLAH BLAH BLAH” text, saying, “Each slide is filled with paragraphs of text.”
Panel 4: The presenter continues, “I will now read each paragraph word-for-word,” as the colleagues stare blankly at their laptops.

For today's #ScanlineSunday I wanted to show you the importance of scan lines, and how the amazing artists of the era used to take CRT limitations into account when creating the graphics that mesmerised us. Top: CRT. Bottom: screenshot from an emulator. Same game. Stormlord on #AtariST
A side‑by‑side comparison of the same fairy sprite from Stormlord on the Atari ST. The top half shows the fairy glowing on a CRT display, where the phosphor dots and scan lines blend the orange, red, and yellow pixels into a warm, shimmering figure with soft highlights of blue and white. The subtle blur and color bleed give her hair a fiery, fluid motion and the whole image a magical, luminous depth. The bottom half shows the same sprite in a modern emulator: crisp, flat pixels with hard edges and uniform tones. Without the CRT’s analog glow, the fairy looks more rigid and less ethereal, losing the radiant warmth that the vintage screen naturally added.

I still think the #AtariST had the greatest mouse design! It was the king from 1985 until 2000, where it was only beaten 15 years later by the original Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical.

I've started making the Monarch butterfly #crochet cardigan for my friend! Her favourite colour is red so I'm hoping she'll like it once it's finished. I learned a lot of techniques making my mother-in-law's blanket, all of which help make this a lot easier. Hopefully finished for Christmas.
A collage showing a woman outdoors wearing a crochet cardigan patterned like butterfly wings. The cardigan is brown with pink and white markings that resemble a monarch butterfly’s wings. She poses with arms outstretched in one photo to display the wing shape, and in two smaller photos she stands among autumn leaves, showing the front and side views. Text on the collage reads “THE MONARCH BUTTERFLY CARDIGAN & SWEATER CROCHET PATTERN,” with the designer’s handle @BIYABIMI.A trapezoid-shaped crochet piece resting on a dark brown leather surface. It’s worked in black yarn with scattered red patches forming an abstract pattern. A blue-handled crochet hook is attached at the top right corner, with a strand of red yarn trailing from it.

Not gonna lie, the new iOS 27 photo cleanup options are finally worth while. They were shit before this. Slow though. This video is twice the actual speed. #apple #ios27

For some reason, this jambalaya cooking on the hob yesterday looked very photogenic so I had to take a snap.
A stainless steel pan with a glass lid sits on a black induction hob. Inside, shrimp and bright green peas simmer in a reddish broth, with steam condensing on the lid.
