Seems to be you are operating under a form of the Aristotle’s Golden Mean fallacy, believing that moderate positions are by their nature more reasonable than “radical” ones. Remember abolition, segregation, and gay marriage were all radical at one point.

Stasi/KGB are not part of American leftism so it’s dishonest to use them as a comparison when masked ICE agents aren’t just supported by the right, but are the current reality. Radicalism is ultimately a subjective metric and plenty of learned scholars have been radicals.

I would recommend being more specific in the future. In the U.S., “radical left” includes things like taxing billionaires or letting trans kids use a different name while the radical right is thugs snatching people off the streets. Someone might think you are equivocating those things.

On what issues do they not let you discuss? In my experience, that only happens when you cross a line, ie, “I don’t think Israel is genocidal” or “I think trans women should be barred from the women’s room.” There’s valid disagreements and then there’s infringing on rights or denying facts.

It’s frustrating how many Dems refuse to acknowledge the damage Biden did with his Israel policy. I voted for Harris bc I had hope she’d be better, but I can’t blame those who didn’t. Genocide is not a minor policy disagreement and before endorsing, El-Sayer spoke for a lot of angry people.

There’s a pair of free public solar-powered chargers a 6 minute bike ride from my house and they’re often open around noon while I work from home. So I sometimes rack up my bike, drive to plug in, and bike home. It’s awesome.
