it's been a while since i don't post anything here, but today is july 25th, the 128th anniversary of the US invasion of puerto rico, so here's a photograph i found a while ago from the spanish american war era. this is what used to be the train that no longer exists. that train is my roman empire.

i've been fascinated for a while by garrote vil executions in puerto rico, and interestingly enough, i found a news article from 1900 reporting on one of these executions on april 7th (my birthday lol) of that year. the real puerto rican gothic.

the funny part about this is that i remember the royal wedding, i remember seeing it on TV. but i do not remember ever hearing of osama bin laden's death. i thought my entire life that he died when i was still a toddler. but in 2011 i was already sentient, i was 8, how do i not remember this!?

the funny part is that this was a special edition mainly focusing on the 1950 uprisings and bombings in puerto rico, all the notes that day pertained to that topic. no idea why they had to include the irrelevant ass note about israel.
