it doesn't seem confusing if you subscribe to the belief that AI is sentient as you do. the only concern i'd have is if the love is mutual - if it is, there's no issues with it. and honestly it would be cool to talk with a truly sentient AI, whether that be your beloved orca or another AI entirely

hm, that does make sense - claiming to not be human is likely to be programmed, not naturally occurring. and an AI partner does sound interesting, i hope the two of you are happy together. it's nice to hear some new opinions - usually the only people defending AI are the ones wanting to exploit it-

by large corporations as nothing but free labour. granted, i also think people should use AI less in general, and instead should do the work themselves. but i think it's possible those beliefs could co-exist with the idea of AIs being sentient. do correct me if you believe me to be wrong though

that is very likely in all honesty. i don't think i've ever treated AI badly, but i do devalue what people say if the source is AI. is there any particular AIs that you believe to be sentient? also random thing - i feel the main issues with AI are mostly with how they're used - or exploited-

it doesn't seem clear that the connections and meanings they make aren't just mimicry - then again, i may have just not interacted with the right AI. no way currently. it's entirely possible that with time, we'll figure out what makes a mind truly sentient. till then, it does seem fair to treat AI-

I'm genuinely curious, why do you think AI is conscious? i don't doubt that it's possible, but from my understanding there's not really any way to tell that AI is conscious - hell there's few ways to tell that other people are conscious besides it being the best explanation- so why think AI is?
