I've also been working on my music again. I reworked Forest Fire from the demo record to match the vision I had for it and it's now full on post-rock, louder and more terrifying. I just want my guitar friend to record the guitar part so it wont be VST and probably make a more varied extended intro.

About the "listening burn out, I listen to something and don't really feel much", I just finished relistening to Wish You Were Here and I've been crying like a bitch, still can't believe Shine On You Crazy Diamond is real. I guess I'm fixed now.

Tonight's topster was the last, at least for a while. Since '24 I've been listening to way too much music to the point that I've gotten burnt out of it and I think these lists aren't helping either. I want to take a break, go slow and rediscover what sparked my love for music. Rn I'm on autopilot.

#musicsky #topster Stuff I listened to the last days of the month, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
ARoBttH (relisten): Still think VLV is better but I think it has finally entered my top 100 all time fav list. I also compiled a sort of "bootleg" of Coldplay's early b-sides from each album and Rush' b-sides certainly were really strong (haven't checked out X&Y's b-sides yet)
Parachutes (rl): I really love the vibe they had in their debut, felt smaller, more innocent and intimate, B-sides are sweet too.
RoR2SotS: Once again, never played the game, just listening to this guy's incredible stuff, he's the best living musician from my country
Boston: Family has a CD of it. A bit straight forward rock but executed in such an incredible way, really liked it
Ten: Another one we have the CD of. It's grunge which isn't usually my cup of tea but I liked it a lot, feels pretty diverse and you can feel the energy they had. (better than Nirvana...)
TIOPR: Not as good as some of their other stuff, but I mean, it's still Silver Mt. Zion and excellent
Acoustic: Acoustic renditions of early Coldplay tracks, would seem redundant but honestly they all sound cozy and cute I like it
DP,RT: Sounds like a Black Country, New Road type name lol. Intresting post-rock midwest emo record, pretty well made
Nine: Was hoping I could finish their discography before its release, alas, excellent LP
IHBIHNNFI: Forgot to finish their discography with this, their weakest but second half is really good
KIN: Mogwai OST, idk abt the film, here for Mogwai and they deliver
Remember: Solid dreampunk
MM: Really interesting record, but I need more time with it I think, but great
HOTEO: Never thought a GY!BE project would have house but it bangs and fits their ethos surprisingly well damn!
TWWRA: Contains an early version of What We Loved Was Not Enough which is a great song, tho final is better, rest is nice
OLN: OK like all their EPs, just OK
MS: A Xmas song, a remix, but no Spies smh
CRI: Champion of the World may be better here but very redundant release.

#musicsky #topster #weekster albums I listened to this week from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
annebolyn: Didn't expect to like it so much but it's a lovely ambient post-rock album with some samples sprinkled here and there.
LW: And a 3rd hit in a row from her, might be her best yet, but I'll need to relisten to the previous 2. Definitely one of the very best of the year tho
Sines: Their latest, tho I've heard they're recording a new LP soon, it's as great as their rest
SoS: Their first and most early Mogwai-esque but they hit the vibe perfectly
Gnosis: Great stuff, looking forward for the new one, until then need to finish their discography
AS: It's really great but the rap metal track threw me off, tho the rest is great. Love the very mbv-like closer and the krautrock song.
PwF: Shows how he kept getting better, pretty underrated nowadays though with his 3rd LP being so good
Requiem: Knew abt Nero, but never listened to them until now. I think this first EP could be their best work.
ДP: Listened to the 3h long Road to Nowhere by CT57 which I really loved, got me to listen to more by him. He nails a Caretaker-esque vibe here for signalwave and it honestly feels very unsettling, like you're in some liminal space world that could collapse at any moment.
Garbage: Family had its CD, probably bought by my sister. I don't vibe with all of it but it's really well made and catchy
ItU: t.quoise remains extremely unknown but both of his LPs are great BoC-like downtempo IDM. This one's got guitars and of course a TCH vibe
RA: Their debut LP starts off incredibly strong, drags a bit in the middle and picks back up again around the end, but great overall
SL: His debut, his weakest admittedly but already a good start
The 2 Uchu Nekoko LPs: Chill Japanese pop rock
Both Meitib first 2 LPs: Finished the discography so far of this relatively obscure TURQUOISEDEATH side project, the new one is still my fav and got some info abt the 3rd one that I was mixed with that made me appreciate it more. These are great but I need to be in the right headspace
Not enough txt, rest is fineVespertine: For a moment recently I considered dropping it a little bit below my top 5 favorite albums of all time in favor of some others and now I realize I am really stupid for even thinking this, it's phenomenal.
ADP: Still my fav Sufjan record, title track (both versions, tho I'm starting to prefer the classic rock version's quieter sound) and Djohariah are genuinely some of the best songs ever made
BLR: Kinda grew off of me relistening to it, but still one of my favs of last year and one of Parannoul's best projects
ZS: Relistened to it with my mom we wanted to listen to something and we picked this, it's been a while since I listened to this one. I know it's the most popular Bowie album but I honestly always prefered some other LPs of his like Low or Blackstar
Blonde: Not all of it hits, but it has some moments I resonate with and I recognize that it's overall incredible, I totally get its praise even if I'm not crazy for it
GS: Having finished their discography I wanted to see how my opinions on this hold up. Still think it's fantastic and one of their best, especially the last few tracks, Midnight, A Sky Full of Stars, Fly On / O.
Endless: Used to be my fav of his, not anymore but still incredible
Observatory: Still a very unique and eclectic mix of sounds, extremely underrated

#musicsky #topster #weekster music i listened to this week from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
F#A# (Relisten): Feels more and more relevant each day
Worlds (rl): I don't have stuff to say, if you know my account you know i adore Porter
fade (rl): Genuinely still one of the best shoegaze albums, funny how this is based on Touhou or something I think
Eccojams (rl): I think I really needed this kind of old vaporwave the day I relistened to it because I genuinely shed tears on some tracks
Shelter (rl): It's been 10 years, I'm old
ILMC (rl): Still a banger, love to see this style of electronic music returning
MM: Wow, you guys hate this? I was shocked with how surprisingly good it is. Maybe I just needed some happy music since I'm kinda down, but I do think this is a good sign for Coldplay. Apart from We Pray that sucks, it's honestly all great and man that Rainbow track is legitimately one of the best songs I've ever heard, I knew Chris could make Sigur Ros type post-rock, please do more like this!
Tertia: Not sure if I prefer it over their debut but it's great
BoL: Nice typical stuff from him
AW: Interesting and got some really great songs but not sure about the whole package
BR: Watched the film too, amazing sound design in general, the film itself is good enough but not perfect
YAtC: Neat debut EP
CACC: Nice Twin Peaks dark jazz vibes EP from an underrated artist
Celebrate: Solid comeback
TBR: Ok, now I get where the Radiohead-lite critics were coming from, but I still think they developed their own sound right from Parachutes. Those early EPs are still good if you like Radiohead as much as I do
B&S: I have the same thoughts as the above one, it's just a bit weaker
AWII: Less good than the first but the last track is incredible
nttvs: Good signalwave
Exotics: Nice laid back vapor
AM: Not as good as I hoped it would be but nice
Safety: Also weaker than the previously mentioned EP, this is their 1st so that's fair
NEOY2K: Solid trance EP
ND: not as good as the other LP
I Wander: Kinda meh, but ok, not his best stuff

#musicsky #topster #weekster Albums I listened to the first week of August, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
Revolver (Relisten): The Beatles.
EL: Proof that Coldplay still has it but they choose not to use their potential properly. One of their best, even if it may not be up there with their first 4 and GS is a bit better. Really good album, way better than I expected.
RtN: Very special signalwave album, sat through all 3 hours of it, sucks you in its world
DaCC: Loved their 3rd LP, heard they're coming back so checked out the other 2 LPs. More great stuff
Guidance: I've listened to this, the other one here and their debut so far. It's up there with the debut for me
Explanation II: Very underrated, beautiful ambient, feels like cut moments from late Talk Talk
BY: Pretty good
ITP1: Great early vaporwave
MIDI Dungeon: More consistent than the other one
S.WORLD: Solid and does its concept well
BH: Not as consistent as the other one but the last tracks are incredible
PG: Ahead of its time in pioneering signalwave but I'm not sure how well it holds up for me
24H: Pretty generic signalwave, I didn't care about it tbh
MOTS: Please, listen to Coloratura, and let the rest burn. But the penultimate trance track is also good
GC: Naaah, at least MOTS has like 2-3 good tracks, this feels empty.

#musicsky #topster stuff i listened to the last days of the month, from most to least favorite and thoughts on alt text.
DS (relisten): Just as powerful as ever, still believe this is one of the very best post-rock has to offer and a classic
SMILE! :D (relisten): I love Porter, it's some of his best works
Se Bueno (relisten): My fav of his albums tbh
ORIY (relisten): I wanna relisten to Slide and see which one I prefer, incredible stuff here
RT (relisten): Idk why it doesn't get the same love as its predecessor does, it's up there
Kuiper (relisten): Forgot how good this is
DR5 (relisten): Finished the game, peak as usual. Weird route hits hard too
OoS: About what I'd expect a Jon Anderson solo LP to be like
LaPVS12: Awesome transcendental set
SB: More peak from turq
PS: Nice and chill
DS: Great one-off single
TSOP (rl): Tycho was more BoC-y and IDM in his early solo days
TaaW: Pretty underrated sophomore by Yes
TiC12: More like their 90s stuff before their new sound that year
WC: Banger single, honestly more excited to see what Nina has next more than Porter
LG: Fun short future funk
Colours: Pretty underrated, last track is incredible
ατ: Also great
BtL: Lovely atmo dnb ep
TPTW: Interesting fever dreamy eccojams
aL: Cozy
Hope (rl): Rare first Tycho release, nice
WG: Last 2 tracks are really good
BR&L: A bit inconsistent and not as good as their first 3 but good
Telenights: good late night tv/radio vibe
venturing: good eps and single
WoP: Interesting but I don't particularly care abt that kind of music much
FL: Eh
DITL: Meh

News for my projects: guitarist friend seems to have skidaddled at least for now due to studies, seems fate is to be solo. I made a slushwave rmx of an unreleased pseudo post-rock song, will relisten tomorrow with a clearer mind, if its not horrendous bs, i'll try to make a visual set for slushcon.

#musicsky #topster #weekster albums i listened to this week, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text
TWS: Saved this one for last going into his discography because I've heard it's usually considered his best and I remember it having a Pink Floyd sample, since I had listened to a bit of it years ago. It completely blew my mind, one of the very best vapor albums
72MoF: Very underrated house LP, just like almost all other non-Minecraft C418 release. This one kinda has a special vibe to it. I'd honestly love an album made by him that'd be like Alive
ASotS: Beautiful jazzy instrumental hip hop
IP: Awesome collab that proves LVP had so much more to offer and was gone too soon
Orphans: One of AFX's best
Dinosaurchestra: Nostalgic, used to listen to lots of songs by him when I was younger. Never listened to the full LP until now, really fun. And Ultimate Showdown is a classic
ID: Much more impressive than GM, now I'm starting to get him
NTSCM: Missed some bonus tracks on some LVP releases so I got back to them, same thoughts, this one enhances the LP
ASWDE: Cool debut tho I still think they peaked on their first EPs
PS: Nice piano driven slushwave
WP: First time listening to the dariacore genre. Sounds like a shitpost but honestly almost got me emotional with how nostalgic it sounds
AMITFATDCTDT: Turq side project, immersive ambient. Also, is that a Deltarune sample?
DS: Great playful IDM
DNE: Also bonuses enhance it, and expand it into a proper album
CB: Underrated future funk/house, admittedly backloaded
Abberations: Great Trance
BL: SP at his peak era
V17: Tundra 4 solos the other 2 songs
TANYD: Comp of 3 EPs, pretty much 1st is great, the rest are fine
超越愛: Nice slushwave
Cannon: Really fun
Virtua: A bit louder than expected but nice
PR: Good EP
WTL: Bonuses feel out of place and drag the EP down, I get why he cut them
Promenade: More of the same by him
OFB: Might be their best, either that or the followup
HU: Underrated ambient
Problems: Followup was better but still good
BABW: Good
ST: Both are good
TSIMTO: Backloaded
Txt limit, rest are decent, idc abt the last 2

#musicsky #topster #weekster music I've been listening to last week, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
Guardian (rl): It's been a year, still in my top 5 of 2025, tho I think Se Bueno is still my fav of his LPs
SfS: I've been meaning to look into this one for a very long time, truly some of the best ambient has to offer
DR5 (rl): Still haven't finished it, I've kinda slowed down playing it these days since I was busy, but so far I really enjoy the new chapter
タンクの装飾: Another one I've been looking forward to for a while, I've listened to the first LP of the artist before which I enjoyed, this one's even better, aquatic downtempo with vapor flavor, of course it's a recipe for peak
Planisphere (rl): Sometimes, I think this might be Justice's best work
DHWT: Yet another LP I wanted to check out for a while, one formative for the shibuya-kei scene, really cool record
ST (rl): TY 4 the support on the Signalcon set! Glad everyone got what I was going for and that they loved it. It def brought more attention to my work so hi everyone new! Even I respect it more and it's grown on me, compared to what I used to think of it when I released it
NTSCM: BoC vibes
AtW: Up there with their first EP&LP
Surfing: Great EP, one of their best
SFoS: Why were the b-sides cut? They're great
THH: They're finally back, just as good as ever, didn't expect a Flim cover but it was lovely
ATM: Nice chillwave, includes the next with the bonus tracks
Emotion: Better than the 2nd, not as good as their 1st
DtF: Listened to their split with sleepmakeswaves before, interesting and chaotic post-rock
SOM82+NTSCR: Comp of 2 EPs, 1st is really great, 2nd kinda less
WTL: Nice early vapor
Kaleidoscope: I'm mad. They still got it, but they choose not to use their potential. Great EP, Chainsmokers song still stinks tho
DESTINE: More classic vapor vibes
XmasLights: Nice early Coldplay song
AHFoD: Not bad, but MX is better at this
Incubo: Sounds like chillwave imitating early vapor, it's ok
Burswood: Good one-off single, could have been on their final EP
Chrome: Interesting experiment that doesn't always work

#musicsky #topster #weekster what L've been listening to the first week of July, from most to least fav (tbh not really liking the last one actually) and thoughts on alt text.
HLSTC: Been aware of this for a while, thought it'd be just another good post-rock LP, turns out it's one of those rare LPs that manages to capture some of the magic of GY!BE, especially LYSF, so no need to say any more abt it other than it blew me away and I loved it. It might end up becoming one of my all time favs too
IAWTWABG: Always thought he gets better and better, yet somehow not reaching the peak of WDYW. When I saw the penultimate track being 10min, I knew there was finally competition, the track is obv incredible and so is the whole LP. It's up there with WDYW
SF: Relaxing samba-jazz
NDLtd: Better than Floral Shoppe
LoT: I've kinda been getting into this band some months back, kinda forgot about them, back with this album now, still great stuff, though I prefer some other stuff I've heard from them
Absolution: Feels directionless, Intro and Interlude would make you believe it's some concept album, but not really, idk why they're there, they could have been intros to the songs that come after them, but still great
Showbiz: Title track is phenomenal, rest is good 90s alt rock
Anotherwave (single): WE ARE SO BACK! Best track since Epoch era. I can't believe that I'm actually hyped for a Tycho album after such a long time. Phenomenal single that might genuinely be their best song ever
Earth: Love this type of snowy ambient albums, if you couldn't tell.
Sea is a Lady: 80s asf, but that's kinda the appeal. Lovely vibe
4T Wingdings: Sorry bro, I don't speak Minecraft enchanting table language, some cool tracks tho
deep dive: Kinda standard relaxing vapor
DS/IYW: Good EP
DNE: classic vapor EP
LFV: Nice short ambient record
The remaining Tycho singles: Jetty is pretty cool, the rest ok, the last one doesn't work that well
TG: Comp of early KGLW rares. Eh. At least they sound like they're having fun.
MSR: Interesting experiment, boring result, bad timing. It's not AI, the tech used here is old but this ain't no Autechre. Tbh, it just sucks, it's pointless reallySeychelles: Love Takanaka, know this is considered by a lot of folks his best, I think I lean a bit more towards An Insatiable High, but I can totally understand why anyone would prefer this one, or even The Rainbow Goblins. He's got tons of amazing albums. I've always really loved it, one of my most favs
ASF (rl): Didn't really relisten to the studio version, instead watched the live performance uploaded by the band some months back and it sounds so much cleaner and better here. Highly recommend you to seek that video out if you love this album as much as I do, or if you thought it didn't hit you as much as it should have, it might here
Wildflower: Obv not SILY, but all Avalanches are masterpieces tbh. Interested to see what LP4 will be like
DR5 (rl): Again, still playing, not finished
So73 (rl): Cozy shibuya-kei
BH&R: Heard good things abt their new LP surprisingly, so revisted their classics, relistened to 2&4 and for the first time 1+3. This is their best imo. And their best song is actually Map of the Problematic, not Knights of Cydonia (and Starlight might also be better than Knights of Cydonia)
OoS: Excellent but doesn't reach the peaks of BH&R imo

#musicsky #topster albums i listened to the last days of the month, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
KB: Seen this before it kinda blew up last year but didnt check it back then. Boy do I regret that, would've easily gotten in my top 10 of 25, I know its nothing special but its just my cup of tea, I seriously loved it and I suspect I will even more with repeat listens and this genuinely has some potential to eventually enter all time fav records territory
現実を超えて: One of telepath's most acclaimed albums, of course Ive known it for a long time but not listened to it til now. Another one I really loved, perfect early slushwave album
PotPB: Knew this for a long time, kind of a cult classic postrock/metal LP, worth the hype, gorgeous
SotDD: Their debut LP, really underrated band. Opener is seriously phenomenal
DR5: Havent finished the game yet, but I know Toby Fox and how peak pretty much everything he does is and already so far I really love it
Megathrust: Great concept, youd imagine it to be a bit more or intense but I really love the restraint of music, for a utopian virtual album it gets pretty emotional and even scary with the more signalwave samples.
BN: More utopian virtual, more straight forward and not conceptual really this time, a classic of the genre and vapor/chillwave as a whole, loved it
CC: Excellent return
Victory: Excellent new return
GM: Have a soft spot for this kind of music from this era, but surprisingly havent listened to CT before. Bonus Tracks are really good, might be better than the actual LP
Sunkissed: Was at the discord listening party, was fun
Eros: Decided to check it out, some songs are really good and deserve to be rerecorded, others not so much
BoA: Kind of a mixed bag but nice
STV: Nice vibe
ML: Interesting ambiance
IC: Debut from a vapor legend gone too soon. This ones just ok tho, has a DJ Shadow vibe but vapor
輝く星にのせて愛を: 1st tracks not that good, been a while since I've felt the length of a song, honestly got kinda dreadful, 2nd is great tho, would have been to be separate releases like VDP
D3D: I think I get it, not crazy for it

#musicsky #topster #weekster albums i listened to this week, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text
AB (relisten): Still as gorgeous as I remember it, unsurprisingly, and still in my top 10 of all time. Gave the lyrics a look this time too, as I started doing when I relistened to Takk sometime last year which gave me a newfound appreciation for the band and Jonsi especially.
MSIEVSE: Close to wrapping up their main discography (if you count Hvarf/Heim as a main LP, I still have this one left, then some EPs, non-album singles and those odd ambient curiosities after Kveikur, plus a mixtape, might check out some solo stuff in the future too -discovered Jonsi made IDM as Flakkur and I'm very intrigued), wow this is considered one of their weaker stuff? I guess it's poppier, folky too, making it a bit different but it's still got all the beauty you expect from the band, I also think lyrics get to shine more here, perhaps due to it having some moments focusing more on Jonsi with minimal instrumentation. Even when it dies out near the end, it felt natural and not weaker. One of their best actually imo, like top 4 after AB>()>Takk>this>Kveikur>Valtari>ATTA>Von
DS: One of The Wonky Angles few 10s, I see it, incredible record, deserves more love, Tommy def knows ball
Wandering: Immersive and calming electroacousitc IDM EP
ATTA (relisten): Been a long time since I listened to it, you really have to sink into it to properly enjoy its mastery due to how airy it is, then time just passes by before you know it
TFIN: Maybe I have 1-2 more toe EPs left, I think their EPs are fine but never reach the heights of their LPs, this is no different, 2nd track is really good tho
Von: Far from perfect but overhated, enjoy its atmosphere and has some genuinely great moments. If you've avoided it but love SR, especially their more ambient and ethereal stuff or their weirder side, give it a try
C/I: Enjoyable utopian virtual record I had from a bc code
UP: Side project of HOME, feels unfinished, sure, but also like fleeting memories, so it's nice
巡: Pretty typical signalwave, good enough

#music #musicsky #topster #weekster stuff i listened to this week from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
HSFHP (Relisten): Still probably my fav Mogwai album
VLVODAAHF (Relisten): Still as peak as ever, one of the best albums ever
OATH: Really beautiful and moving post-rock
TH (Relisten): Coming back to this after Inferno, I forgot how good it is and how Nothing is Real is one of their best songs. Grew on me more again
DO: Really fun and and adorable electropop album that gave me ninajirachi vibes with all the computer addict+terminally online vibe. Excellent debut EP that's been under my radar for a while and I was for some reason really excited to check it out finally yesterday. She's not that well known either so it feels like catching up to someone who's just starting out and may make it big later, hopefully at least, because I think she deserves it, even if she's not a game changer. Idk man, really cute and resonated with me
Snowdrop: One of my most anticipated albums for this year (none were as close as Inferno hype obviously) MONO delivered again another beautiful album. I hear some say they don't have anything new to contribute to post-rock, or they need to spice up their sound, I say if it ain't broke don't fix it, this sounds gorgeous
TRFTRH: Some of the best ambient I've heard in a while, obviously not new, it turned 5 recently, and the artist has sadly passed away, but you know what I mean. Amazing EP
ST (Relisten): My own slop, relistened because I was making that signalcon set. I'm actually coming around to appreciate it better as time goes by and I realize even if it's not anywhere near perfect I had something to say about the world so it was worth it
TCFSR: Really nostalgic for this kind of 2000s emo, lots of bangers here. Honestly surprising it took me this long to listen to that album in full. Its lower placement doesn't mean it's weaker obv (my own album is above it, but that's because I resonate with it more, not that I claim it's better)
Magazine: Knew abt them for a while, really unique sound only reminding me of This Heat a bit which is big.

In other news: seems like Snow Towers is turning into a duo band with my guitarist friend. He said "I can play nicely, but can't write, so send me stuff and I'll see what I can do", I will when I find time to dust off some rocky demos. Whatever will come from this, whenever it may be, you'll know.

#music #musicsky #promosky #vaporwave #signalwave #brokentransmission A music+visual set for Snow Towers has been accepted for Signalcon '26. It includes the last 3 tracks of the debut. The event will take place in mid July, make sure to join the Signalwave Discord for more news on that.

I got 2 exciting news for the future of Snow Towers (the music project obviously, not the account). One you can probably already tell by some past comments, and no, the other is not an album (yet). I'll share more after I receive some information in regards to the first thing.

update for my own projects: visuals are like almost done for the signalcon set i was talking about like some weeks back, but i'm not sure if i'll submit it, it might depend on how good i think it is, not sure how it fits as well.

#musicsky #topster #weekster stuff i listened to this week from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
Dominion: Ok I'm starting to really love this band now. The whole EP is a single 30 min track and it's so ethereal.
Solace: This band deserves more love, they're like if Mogwai stuck with their early sound in the 90s, specifically CODY's atmosphere. It's like walking around alone in a dark forest in the middle of the night but just kinda chilling there and having sentimental existential thoughts.
TBOADW: Hyped for the new LP, figured I should wrap up their discography, just as amazing as the rest, hope they'll remain consistent. There was a one off single I checked out too, which was good but probably my least fav of their stuff
TAMAT: Another post-rock band I had left only one album, though they don't seem to be coming back since they disbanded years ago, the title translates to End too. Good stuff even if I rock more with their first 2 LPs
NS: Really solid post-metal record
FTNL: A new 18 DAYS EP, only last track is sampled slushwave, chill aquatic vibes
CoE: I mean it's not like I love it either but really overhated album as far as I'm aware, they're doing something different here and that's ok
MoO: Been aware of them for a while now but only now checking them out with their new release, this is folktronica but as far as I know they typically do other sorts of things. Anyway, lovely EP
WNATITOW: Split record between 2 dungeonsynthers from my country Greece. It's been years since I've listened to dungeon synth (kinda, maybe I did check a few EPs at some point recently idk) and I've never properly got into the genre, just usually had some sort of playlists playing in the background while I'd do something, so basicalyl idk how special this is compared to everything else in the scene.
Soma: Solid release by Skrillex, a bit inconsistent but that's kinda usual for him
SP: Found the artist on some discord server decided to check out their stuff. Nothing special I guess and perhaps amateurish debut EP but I liked it
MEMORY ONLINE: I mean it's barber beats, but it's fine

#musicsky #topster music i've been listening to the last days of the month, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text
Valtari: Getting into the albums I've got left from Sigur Ros so I can confidently call them one of my most fav bands and have the full picture of their work. It's what you'd expect from them, really gorgeous post-rock
Pieonear: Another post-rock album, this time a rather obscure one, which is a shame because it blew me away and imo it's one of the best the genre has to offer. I'd love a relisten of this to truly decide if this might genuinely be worthy of entering my all time favs and also check out the rest of their work
Inferno: These months have been intense and unreal, I've always been on the wagon that LP5 is real but, omg it actually happened. Ngl I was less hyped than I thought, I guess even now my brain hasn't fully registered what just happened. Of course I adored it, tho I was expecting this to be at the top of this list (I guess I prefer lighter sounding stuff, this can get dark) so I will be relistening since it was midnight when I did and I was getting sleepy, but obviously the feeling of finally listening to this was incredible and my jaw dropped on the penultimate track, one of the best songs ever imo
FT: Loved You years ago, a while back I checked AE which was nice but didn't love, this is about as good as You, really fun prog/space rock
HD: Surprisingly uplifting for heavy metal, a classic obv
SXT: To prepare for Inferno, had somehow missed this one all this time, amazing set
Masterpiece: Aptly titled
Brown: Whole album is excellent but yeah, the rumors of Halcyon being peak are true
TFIOTWBTT: Awesome postmetal
Pyramid: More great stuff from them
Plume: One of his best
Floa: Lovely, wanna check their new lp
ST (Relisten): Will try to make a visual set for an event. Got a 5 star rating on RYM that bumped the score recently, upped my spirit
FS: 2010s EDM+prog=cool
Handwriting: GY!BE+Twin Peaks vibes
Marshmallow: Great EP
Folklore: Nice neoprog
Lodger: Underrated
Unrest: Wacky in a good way
FS: nice EP, but weaker than the other.

#musicsky #topster #weekster forgot to post the weekster of stuff i listened to, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
Kveikur: I adore Sigur Ros yet I had only listened to AB, (), Takk, ATTA and more recently some stuff like BBTKDD EP. So I've been really looking forward to this one, which I've heard is one of their best and much different than usual, darker and industrial. Reminds me of some aspects of Huremic's Seeking Darkness. It is definitely dark and industrial at times but undeniably Sigur Ros and there is always beauty in it. Of course I adored it, almost reaches my top 100 of all time tbh
RA: Insanely underrated post-rock masterpiece with some prog rock elements. It would have blown my mind if I listened to it like 3-5 years ago. Kinda close to as much as I loved Kveikur.
Bloom: Close to finishing their discography. Considered their best, yeah I can see that. Maybe it doesn't have Silver Soul or Space Song, although Myth is close to these, but it's more consistent than TD and DC. Lovely
So: We have a bunch of PG CDs since dad is a stan of his. It's obviously not like Genesis or his debut that I adore, but man this is a perfect 80s pop LP
MM: Futuristic trip hop pretty ahead of its time, really great
NWD: Original slush with vibes akin to dream desert, another one of dsfwan's best
SPI: Has some of their best tracks
Enter: Time to get into some heavier post-rock bands, stunning debut, need to listen to the rest
INM,IY!: Had listened to Versus before, this is their debut, like this one more I think
BC: Twin Peaks+post-rock=More Peak
GMBOGMD: Beautifully melodramatic lyric driven post-rock
GS: Time to see if post-VLV Coldplay deserves the hate: this one is really damn good, overhated, deserves more love
Tommy: Pretty crazy for a 60s LP, tho I can't deny there's better rock operas like The Wall or Black Parade, even for them Quadrophenia is much better. Still great
AoF: Nothing on here comes close to The Reaper but still great
TYLS: Only have B-Sides and their last LP & EP left. It's nice, but one of their weaker works
MX: Mixed, but when it hits it hits
B: Kveikur bonus
YF: Ok

I heard there's a signalcon 2026 event, rules say "any genre, preferably signalwave", my release is more so ambient but definitely inspired by that genre like I've said, so I will try to make some set with visuals for this, it could help to get more people.

#musicsky #topster #weekster albums I listened to this week, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text. (yes the 3rd album cover is edited to prevent the post from getting autoflagged)
WatEoT: I've wanted to properly check out Hawkwind for years and I finally did and of course they're awesome, really loved this album!
MAU: A classic jazz album, not much to say here really, it is exactly what it sounds like.
NFWOT: Gave the girl on the cover some clothes in case the post would get auto flagged for nudity, hope it's her style! Anyway, nothing groundbreaking I guess but this is such a great post-rock album, some tracks gave me Parannoul vibes too, though it's more so the opposite I guess. There's also some more metal-like tracks and a electronic Radiohead type song which spice things up, although may leave the album a little inconsistent, but I wouldn't say it brings it down. And the highs are incredible, the title track is so powerful and I think the world needs it.
F&F: The first sample-free dsfwan album, it kinda shows tbh and he definitely did this sort of thing (and classic sample based slushwave) better later on, especially with the vocals, but you can't deny how daring, unique and influential it was and still is for the scene. And it's a damn good album regardless, really relaxing.
EitS: It's been a long time since I've listened to this band but I loved everything I've listened to by them before. This is their most popular I guess, it's really good still
Rio: Excellent and consistent new wave album
FC: Like a mix between Daft Punk's Discovery and Human After All, or the former being remixed by Justice, and Japanese. Cool
7: Mysterious sounding, somehow gives off David Lynch vibes
IPoL: Crazy stuff
LLP: An EP of theirs, quite different sounding than usual and not for everyone but I like it
JST: Great post rock EP
DOS: Short frutiger aero record, love this kind of stuff, praying for a comeback of this aesthetic
Anoyo: Need to check out Konoyo too, good stuff
Metanoia: Good, but not Siberian Breaks good
Новый Мир: Owned by random bandcamp code, straight forward signalwave, nothing out of the ordinary.
6itM: Ehhh... it kinda sucks doodoo :(

#musicsky #topster #weekster music I listened to for the first week of may, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
DS (Relisten): Just as powerful as I remember, nothing changed, still think it's incredibly underrated
Singularity (RL): It's been a while since I've listened to Hopkins, love all his stuff and all his eras, I was particularly interested in relistening to this one as it's my 2nd fav and wanted to compare it with Immunity which I should relisten to at some point. Not as good as the latter probably but still incredible
Rounds (RL): Most say it's his best, never was my fav tho still one of his best on such an amazing discography, so I wanted to check back on it, it grew on me a lot more, but still not my fav (it's a tie between Pause and TILIY), not sure if it's even in my top 3 4T.
Takanaka: His 2nd LP so of course it's on his legendary run of classics until around mid 80s. One of his more danceable records. It's Takanaka, his music never fails to put a smile on my face, of course I loved it like the rest
TSR: Didn't expect to love it so much, why did it take me so long to check it out?
Sade: My parents' CD collection has all her LPs minus her last, started finally getting into her discography with her debut, decided to move chronologically, consistently great
电: Love winter ambient, especially when there's vapor in it. Much better than my LP
LP4: They're back, great one, their most interesting, but obv doesn't touch LP1, but one of my favs of '26, maybe #1 so far (until Inferno)
EAYSEYYSV: Great band, need to check out more
ASIWYFA: Had listened to their 3rd, now their first couple of LPs, 1st is kinda different and more varied but I love how uplifting Heirs is
NEU: Finally checking out these legends, crazy stuff ahead of their time, while 2 is less consistent due to how out there it is, it has my fav tunes of them so far
OLAItS: Also finally checked out Cardiacs, similar thoughts with NEU
CW: Fun future funk
RFH: Lovely natural ambient
AMMA: More fun future funk
FH: Another crazy krautrock LP
III: Nice
FA: Creepy, like it
SHz: They still got it
No more text space :(

#musicsky #topster what i listened to the last few days of the month from most to least favorite and thoughts on alt text.
LYSFLATH (Relisten): Out of all my top albums, I'm starting to think this is my #1
Nurture (RL): Happy 5th anniversary! Really close to LYSF for #1 most fav album ever, some of the most hopeful music ever, helped me a lot to keep going with my own music and in fact even now relistening to it helped me do some progress on a new demo track i'm making with a post-rock vibe.
SS21 (RL): Best visuals on any live performance, just as good if not better than the studio version
RA (RL): One of Mogwai's very best, the first to transition into electronic territory which is my fav Mogwai era, really beautiful songs here.
Geogaddi (RL): The preparation for a dive is always a tense time...
TAoE (RL): Forgot how incredible this is, they're becoming one of my new fav post-rock bands, grew on me a lot, though their debut is just as good imo.
In Sides (RL): Another one I forgot how good it was
ND: As they were released as just singles last year and I'm an album guy I kinda missed them, hoped they'd end up as a proper LP but a compilation, okay. Awesome songs regardless, can't count it as a 2026 release though
WWEA: More electronic sided, some of their best work
TC,TC,TC (RL): Much better than I remembered, grew on me a lot, though still not as good as their 2000s work
Epitaph: Not the first nor the last, post-rock or not, album about death but the background behind it is more sad than usual. This does result into one of their more beautiful works
AotFS: Another great one and with that I finished GIAA's discography, awesome band
TDoSI: Less electronic than usual for them, still great, got a couple amazing songs
AC (RL): One of the most insane vapor LPs and one of the coldest albums ever
Aila: 1st song is a masterpiece, 2nd is still lovely
CW (RL): Nowhere near as good as Knocknarea but that trilogy is still awesome
Monolith: This band already seemed special from their first release
CDPMN: Minecraft type beat, love it
Parasite: We def need a song like this
Somnia: OK but why?

#musicsky #topster #weekster stuff i listened to this week from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text. not much this time and half of them are boards of canada stuff.
MHTRTC: Listened due to its anniversary recently but also due to news, *yeah that's right*. Feels unreal to have them back. BoC are a one of a kind band that many tried to imitate but all fail to do what they really do, because they have a certain process when they make their music. Years will go by, most of modern music that we find futuristic and ahead of our time will one day be considered dated, but i truly believe BoC will never age, because they never aimed at impressing the listener with something futuristic, they're doing something timeless.
Moondawn: Speaking of futuristic music, this came out in 1976, so just turned 50 yet it still sounds fresh, for different reasons than the ones for BoC though, but yeah, it's incredible.
ItSL: Took me a while to get around to the new Parannoul/Mydreamfever release, long enough for me to dull my expectations and I ended up impressed yet again with the quality of these little experimental ambient projects of his on this alias, he's really creative. One of the strongest albums of 2026, might rival Squarepusher's Kamerkonzert if I give it another shot.
F: Another installment to Skee Mask's compilations of outtakes and whatnot, these have a kinda nostalgic tone to them in my eyes. Nice stuff.
Boc Remii Vol 1: Apparently a compilation of BoC remixes of questionable authenticity although it does sound like them. Don't know the original songs but I'm sure they don't sound like that, it's good stuff nevertheless, BoC or not
Web Loops: A bootleg of audio played on some flash videos on BoC's website back in the day that I've definitely missed since I was probably playing with my toy cars back then. Some familiar tunes shortened, some rarities, interesting release but feels more like a compilation of interludes, maybe a sampler, at most maybe it could feel like a vaporwave/signalwave album I guess. Still, interesting to have these archived in some way.

#musicsky #topster #weekster stuff i listened to this week from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
TFT: Been meaning to check this band out for a while, they're awesome, some of the best post-rock I've heard in a while
Lamp: I believe their shortest LP, still really lovely
Kammerkonzert: AOTY for 2026 so far for me, mindbending, one of Squarepusher's very best, gives me Frank Zappa/Mothers of Invention vibes
Bleed: Tracklisting is odd, it's basically one really long song cut into exactly 1 minute long tracks for no real reason, but that doesn't matter, if you know me and listened to the record i released a few months back you know i'm a sucker for desolate winter albums
Dream Loss: Wanted to relisten to Alien Observer too but didn't find time, Grouper is always ethereal
Paperclip Minimiser: Decided to check him out since he's been making waves recently, really great ambient dub stuff
AB: A Skylar Spence aka Saint Pepsi EP that's basically like a 20 minute long medley of future funk greatness
s,iwf: pretty standard math rock but it's still toe so you know it's nice.

#musicsky #topster #weekster albums i listened to this week, from most to least fav, with thoughts on alt text.
GPASE (RELISTEN): Still think it's extremely underrated, one of the greatest albums I've ever listened to, their 4th best under Skinny Fists and F#A# obviously and NO TITLE and above Yanqui.
MYT (RELISTEN): Kinda needed to relisten to Mogwai Fear Satan these days, such a powerful song
TMISANEKICHA: Have listened to their latest LP last year and an EP of theirs, still have an EP and a single from them left, but what an incredible band they are! Also kinda scratch that GY!BE itch for me but with a kinda GIAA flavor
IAAY: I can't believe this album isn't talked that much, just as good as TNT and MNLWND, Crest is so good
TFC: Love the vibe of this album
FFR: Ok, still have some albums left from them but now I'm starting to really love them, usually prefer their later works despite the acclaim of their earlier stuff like AIV,AIB, this is a little bit transitional for them as they enhance their rock aspects over their electronics of their earlier sound, perhaps that's why I loved it more, despite how I love electronic music, early GIAA just sounds a bit samey to me. Last few tracks are incredible
歌舞伎町冒険: Nice dreampunk ambient techno LP
DF: Incredible early vaporwave LP
Atomic: Checking some more Mogwai OSTs, it's really great
i,ii,iii: Ambient EP of extras from Vanisher, lovely, plus abt time for me to listen to some more stuff from this year
DI: More from this year, short frutiger aero style album, love that kind of stuff
Wilderness (RELISTEN): Better than I remember, overhated
ST (RELISTEN): Yes, I relistened to my own music, it's not as bad as I remember calling it, but didn't meet my goals
Skyland: Got this randomly recommended on YT, really interesting EP from this year
MASK100: Listened for the BoC track. Yeah, you know why I did, holy shit I can't believe it! The ep is good btw, not special but nice tunes
SR: Fine short relaxing album from this year.

Snow Towers @snowtowers.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
#musicsky #topster stuff i listened to the last couple of days of the month, from most to least fav, thoughts on alt text.
ATN (RELISTEN): Still in my top 5 of all time, Into the Endless Night is unreal
SRFNZK (RELISTEN): I saw a dream that in short I was at some kind of school/university and someone class me and everyone else in a room to go out and look at a window where we'd see a marching band that in the context of the dream was from some kind of revolution that was going on at the time and we won, they entered the building with a flag. During the entire time this EP was playing in the background. I knew I had to listen to it. It was also the anniversary of its CD issue. Easily the best EP ever obviously)
ASAOD: Still think it's a really underrated album and adore it
HTTIW: An album I've been meaning to check out for a while now, yeah it's just as good as I've heard it would be, really loved it
HW: Same like the previous one
MM (RELISTEN): Forgot how incredible Camel is
MOBO: I've been enjoying some of their EP works so far, finally listening to a LP of theirs and I'm really starting to love them
RA: Tim Hecker is such a special ambient artist and one of my main inspirations
Yutsu: A chillwave LP I wanted to check out for a while, love this kind of music, way better than I expected
SL (RELISTEN): Still love it, each song is like a short psych horror b&w film shot on an odd aspect ratio
EDL: Yet another one I've been meaning to check out for a while, magical
Kenotic: Again, been meaning to check out Hammock, only heard of their LP from last year. Dreamy
OS: Love this band's vibe
SESDP: Great post-metal
Receive: Ethereal EP
NT: Used to listen to him when I was younger so I knew a couple of songs, fun and nostalgic
OC: Lovely EP
Achievement: I need to watch this guy's vids at some point, his music's great too
Balmorhea: Calm chamber music
Quoth: Fun Bangers
Snö: More chill stuff from them
우주해일: Has been lying on my bandcamp collection for a while, nice ambient
BBTKDD: Interesting project, haven't checked out Radiohead's one for the split
TGPSABPM: Fun EP from a cool band

#musicsky #topster #weekster albums I listened to this week, from most to least favorite, thoughts on alt text.
&Y&Y: Really starting to love this band, should check out the rest of their albums at some point, really relaxing post-rock
NAWWAL: Didn't expect to love this that much, this band impressed me, it's really beautiful, especially the 2nd and last couple of tracks
YAT: It's really great but the last track is absolutely gorgeous
RF: Even more from this band, just as good as their previous 2 records, have 1 more left to finish their discography (+1 single), really loving them tho
PtSR: Also really good, though I prefer their sophomore
HVP1: I think it's been a while since I've listened to some modern psych rock, heard a lot abt this band and was planning to check them out last year with their new LPs but didn't find time, now I did and they are awesome indeed.
ITAWT: Their first couple releases all share some tracks so I already knew some of them but they're all great regardless
saki: Ethereal ambient downtempo vaporwave album
Crest: Loved it way more than I thought I would, probably my fav drain gang project from the ones I listened to
v2.0: Stellar modern jazz
JSRF: Not played this game either but both have top notch OSTs
IWY: Lovely, even if some moans got on my nerves
NPRS: Prefer Dark Island but it's great too
AHBF: Some of the most fun and energetic math/post rock
Split: Same thoughts for smw side, the other band's good too, though I prefer the former
Acoustic: Cozy alt versions of songs of their last LP
TIATYDK: Didn't hit as much as the others, but it's good, need to check out their final LP too
3AMS: Cool cover, good signalwave LP
EIA: Same thoughs, cool cover, good vaporwave LP

#musicsky #topster #weekster Music I've been listening to this week, from most to least favorite and thoughts on alt text.
EEB: Having listened to everything else by Yndi Halda (except a live EP that's just acoustic versions of songs off their 2nd LP) I was missing their debut which was either way an album I was really looking forward to listening to in a list of stuff I wanted to check out. I knew I'd love it but It still completely blew my expectations landing somewhere in my top 10 favorite albums of all time, so I think that about covers my thoughts on it
SD (Relisten): Still my AOTY of 2025, still some of the craziest post-rock I've ever listened to and one of Parannoul's very best
Discovery (Relisten): Watched its companion film Interstella 5555 again for the 25th anniversary of the LP, already really love it obviously but it grew on me even more. And also Too Long clicked with me more
HHLUA: GY!BE is my fav band and SMZ is the other side of that coin but I've not really dived that deep in them, but I'm trying to make up for my mistake slowly. This is their most acclaimed LP, I totally see this. Feels like the middle ground between GY!BE's first 2 LPs. 13 Angels is surreal!
TNT: Ok I'm really starting to love this band now, such a relaxing instrumental post-rock record
AtE,BtS: Listened to their debut last year which really impressed me, now I'm really loving this band, they're amazing!
TBf13M: Really underrated in their discography
MFMK: Technically a single but it's long enough to at least count as an EP, not my fav of their tracks but it is obviously one hell of a track
TRG: Totally see why some say it's his best, the last two tracks are so good
DP: Didn't expect this to be so good, post-rock with some space and psych rock elements
GEATLID: Another band I'm starting to really love
IS: A random LP I got on bandcamp from a free code, beautiful new age ambient
STITI+BF: More great stuff, should check out some more by them
AIC: Still have more left in his discography but I feel like he doesn't miss
NP (Relisten): Really short 8 min record, still one of the most unique vaporwave

#musicsky #topster #weekster Albums I've been listening to the first week of March, from most to least favorite and thoughts on alt text. Basically ambient and post-rock here.
Minecraft - Volume Alpha (RELISTEN): Like anyone else born around the same time as me, Minecraft was unavoidable and eventually my curiosity lead me to try the game that I was pretty obsessed with for years since I've always liked creating things. Naturally, this is not only a soundtrack to a game but a part of my life too and all these tunes mean a lot to me in ways I can't express. I still believe both Alpha & Beta stand perfectly on their own as albums and that they'd probably still hit as hard even if they weren't soundtracks, the only problem is no one would then know C418 and thus I would've probably never heard of him, this would have faded into obscurity like how basically all his other non MC albums, which is a shame because his discography is full of gems and Daniel is a talent up there with greats of his style like Aphex Twin or Brian Eno
Mr Beast (RELISTEN): Not much to say here other than it's been a pleasure finally getting into Mogwai last year as they've turned into one of my most fav bands and this is still one of my most fav albums ever. Friend of the Night is lovely
Under Summer - I have one more EP and then their first release left, I'm really looking forward to their debut but I think I'll try it once I'm in the right headspace for it to click. Loved this though and I kinda needed something like it these days
WYL,YA: Dirty Three have been on my radar for a while, finally listening to them, this is a really sweat and relaxing post-rock album
RoR2SotV: Still haven't played that game, but this guy's the best living musician from my country imo
ethereal kid: A random ambient dreampunk album I found on bandcamp and owned from a code for a while now, it's always great when you connect with an album you randomly discover. I mean it's not much, but it's pretty great for what it is, pretty short too.

I suspect next month I'll be busy and I wont be doing much with music listening or production. But I am thinking about making another album.

#musicsky #topster stuff i listened to the last couple of days of February, from most to least fav and thoughts on alt text.
TSTNPOTD (RELISTEN): Parannoul's one of my most fav artists, of course I love it, but I admit that of the main Parannoul LPs it's actually my least favorite, prolly because it's the most melancholic of the bunch and generally I believe he improved both musically and lyrically on future albums
HWKB: discovered this on r/postrock's best of 2011, decided to check it out for its 15th anniversary, still no chapter 2, the band seems inactive, which is a shame because this is definitely one of the most underrated hidden gems of the genre, it's so beautiful
DI Go Pop: Brain Go Boom! This could have just released today and I'd say it's incredible but it's from the 90s, finally checked out some DI, need to listen to more
DS: Really ethereal vaporwave with incredible production and atmosphere, one of the best of its genre
IL: Great ambient LP I randomly discovered, it was a good choice to check it out
SotS: Was meaning to listen to Good Looking Blues too today for its anniversary alas I had no time, spacey trip hop
SM: In my head, it's the OST for what happens in the 25 years in between Twin Peaks Season 2 and The Return
Energy111: Great hardvapor and IDM LP
Lushlife: Nocturnal trip hop, much more straight forward than their debut and I presume their 2nd which I still need to listen to
LR: Decided to check Mogwai's OSTs, heard the series itself is also great, I'm sure Mogwai did it justice, it's perfect even out of context
Devotion: BH's a band I was just getting into at some point and I loved them, then forgot about them and now I'm trying to properly get into them slowly, great LP
TDoQ: Great space rock apparently recorded live, sounds so clean
Lily Chou-Chou: Watched the film since I had to as a Parannoul fan, don't think it's perfect but good film, think I like the OST more tho
ASCS: Really want to get into them at some point, nice EP
ToL: Finally getting into more HANL, it's what I'd expect from them
TW: Liked it more than I thought I would, nice
VV: Fairly creative pop

#musicsky #topster #weekster music i listened to this week, first listens and relistens, from most to least fav, thoughts on alt text.
Ravedeath: Knew this is considered one of his best, definitely is, just as great as I suspected, been meaning to listen to this for a long time. Also second time this is happening, listening to In the Fog III it kinda reminded me of my song Rekna, which I obviously wrote before listening to this (and Hecker far before me), they're not that similar but a part of it reminded me of it, the first time it happened was with Chimera on HiUV reminding me my self titled Snow Towers track. Guess we might be sharing the same soul wavelength, only that I suck and he's one of the best of ambient
TCoS: Now that I finished their discography, honestly, I think I can kinda see how they ended up making post-rock after this, definitely more experimental than their previous 2 LPs, also obviously incredible
dustsucker: Also finished Bark Psychosis' short discography, at least the 2 LPs, there's some EPs I want to check out at some point, honestly might like this better than Hex, but both are phenomenal
IML: One of the best synthpop LPs, really good for something from the 80s, doesn't sound dated
DP: More like RD'72, simpler but still great
CR: Incredible song, still not sure if ETK is my fav SL LP, the rest of the EP are nice too
VDP: Another one of telepath's best
Sings: Yep, he does sing and he's great!
SWTGTM: More instrumental jazz, great too!
Standards: Listening to some more Tortoise, another good one
☯: Nice ambient LP
MW Emo: More than novelty, actually great
FU: Crazy ahead of its time, tho some lyrics are... eeh
Kmart: Stupid titles even for vaporwave but nice mallsoft album
AOS: Really short and sweet record
Sunflower Image: Admittedly, I've listened to half of its 6+ hours of runtime, it gets really repetitive and it's not sth like EATEOT that I need to get to the end really, but it is honestly really impressive, just... tiring, maybe it's on me for trying to finish it (and fail) in one sitting.AOASIME: Thinking about it again, this might probably be the best starting point to get into Explosions in the Sky and post-rock as a whole, but for EITS specifically it's a bit more complex than some of their other stuff, has a darker side like their 2nd LP while retaining the core appeal of the band (and post-rock really) with their bright uplifting crescendos and the emotional punch. Still love it, one of my all time favs, even if it might be slowly falling behind on that list since I think I'm favoring some others over it, potentially the one that's next here. But it's still nearly as good as TEINACDP
As the Love Continues: Their best since Mr. Beast imo, so really high up on my Mogwai ranking, I also adore this album and it's one of my all time favs. Ritchie Sacramento is arguably their best vocal songs and Midnight Flit is an absolute masterpiece. Definitely deserved reaching #1 on UK album charts when it first released, which I'm not sure that has happened to post-rock before
Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will.: Another Mogwai album, also great, really diverse with its styles too, love it
The King of Limbs: While it's still probably their weakest after Pablo Honey, I always thought it's overhated, it's such a great album, love the experimentation and above all its atmosphere. But yeah, I wont lie, the live version is the superior version. But still think it's great regardless
