Fall starts my favorite time of year. In honor of that I made this piece combining hand drawn autumn leaves with a cheerful greeting to welcome the season. Available as a print, mug, notebook, tote bag, sticker, and greeting card. snowirisstudio.com/f... #Botanical #SmallBusiness #BSNM #Art 🎨

A dark orange banner has the words "Happy Fall Y'all!" on it in yellow letters. It sits at the center of a background of pale yellow with a variety of autumn leaves falling in the background in colors of red, yellow, orange, and green. Hand drawn, done in Procreate.

A mockup of the "Happy Fall Y'All" design as shown on a landscape oriented greeting card sitting on a desk.

Great egrets 🪶 🐡

Photo of a small painting being held by a hand for scale with a small paintbrush visible resting on the table behind it. The painting is of a pair of great egrets in breeding plumage standing on a tall, twisty leafless branch against a misty grey-blue background. The egrets are bright white, with green faces and yellow beaks and eyes. The top egret sports a fan of breeding plumage and the lower egret has the plumage blowing a bit to the side. The painting is soft and dreamy and misty feeling.

People have been asking how prompting a computer is different to photography And the answer is that the machine doesn't make decisions for you. The camera captures the image as it is designed to do but makes no choices of its own, that's the artists job

“I had that dream again. The one where I could have sworn I felt the wind as it shifted off the water. The sun began to warm the distant slopes and light the tops of nearby trees. I had that dream again, where I felt completely free.” "Remnants: Tranquility" #Watercolor, #gouache, #coffee #dragons

A painting in black watercolor and white gouache on coffee stained watercolor paper of a dragon on a rock in a mountain lake. The mountains in the distance are lit by the sun and the trees framing the illustration are dark black. Signed Katie Croonenberghs 2026, text kamakru.com

I was going to say this feels so serene even before I saw the part about tranquility. Beautiful.

Working on a new surface pattern tonight and as much as there's trial and error to get the balance of spacing and colors right, I can't imagine outsourcing that to a computer. This is the process of creation! It's the fun part!

I love my feed here. In a world where AI slop is hard to escape, it fills my soul to see all of you creating from your hearts. Doesn't matter how simple or complex the result. What does is that you all have a POV and something of yourself you want to share. It's beautiful.

I get another medal for not adding "When in those four hours did you make sure to specify you wanted it to have a shit brown filter over it? Because if this is truly your vision you must have said you really wanted it in the final product, right?"

Someone bragged to me that they spent four hours working on prompts for an AI generated graphic. I feel like I deserve a medal for not pointing out I personally wouldn't brag about needing four hours to generate something that looks exactly the same as everyone else's shitty AI generated stuff.

Another August birthday brings another hand drawn card. As before, I'm keeping the card details private. But this is what I drew for the background. Their favorite color is green so, yanno. Monochrome seemed like a fun way to go. #Botanical #Leaves #Art #ProcreateArtist 🎨

Every so often I try drawing in a different style to see what it's like. Sometimes I pick up a new technique that I love. Other times every atom of my being screams that what I'm creating is WRONG WRONG WRONG and won't stop until I do it my way. So, yanno. Learning process either way.

My aunt's birthday is today. This is only part of the card I made for her but the card has personal info. So just this as a preview. Her favorite colors are blue, yellow, and green so I hope she likes this and the result. #Botanical #Flowers #FloralArt #Art #ProcreateArtist 🎨

I love the argument that those of us who don't like AI just don't understand it. No, I understand it fine. Amazingly I don't feel a need to outsource my brain to an environment destroying plagiarism machine that is as useless as a calculator that can't do math.

Yeah, the honor system part is what does it. Creative Market in theory lets you filter out AI results but not everyone tags appropriately. I bought one stock photo that after I felt hinky about, which I hate. I want to be supporting real artists and real people!

One thing I wonder about the impact of genAI is on current art. Because if I'm buying stock photos and the like to use I tend to search by date for things a few years old to make sure I'm not wading through AI slop. But I realize that means legit current photography's being left out. Not great.
