As a postdoc I don't take my work home often enough - there might be 15 whole minutes where I'm not thinking about science. So I decided to print an ultracentrifuge rotor for my tree so even when I'm in the holiday spirit I know I will always belong to the lab.
A 3D printed Ultracentrifuge rotor. The rotor body is in black with silver edging to simulate wear and tear. The rotor lid is red and the cap is silver. The lid and cap are on the side of the body, and all three are on a wooden surface. Whoever you are you're amazing just for being you!A 3D printed Ultracentrifuge rotor. The whole thing is hanging from a tree I found in the common room of my workplace. Whoever you are you're brilliant, and I wish you nothing but happiness!

Printing magical science boxes and turning them into tiny plant pots might be my new favourite thing. This little dude is only 8cm tall! Want one? snowentificdesigns.etsy.com/listing/1567...

I love #sciartseptember - the trees might be losing their leaves but those on glucooligosaccaride oxidase stay evergreen... #sciart #blender3D #B3D #scicomm
A depiction of the protein glucooligosaccaride oxidase (GOOX), overgrown with plant life in red, green and pale cream. The leaves are from a variety of plants. Am oligosaccharide is shown in red as a cylinder view. The protein is a ribbon depiction.

My latest #3Dprinting adventure! Two months in the making, the client wanted to show the idea of protein-protein interactions. Both these structures can be taken apart and put back together! #3Dprint #sciart #scicomm #PDBart
A 3D print of the met requestor complex (surface view). The protein subunits are in blue and purple and the DNA is in orange. The complex is on a decorative stand with a black stalk and wood base, with a silver sign saying "met repressor complex PDB 1MJ2".A 3D print of the auxin response factor 1. Not science, but I've been loving making these #3Dprinted moose toys! All 4 legs and the head can move, and I've done a few different colours by now.

Howdy! For those of you I knew on the former bird place, good to see you again! For everyone else, I'm a structural biology postdoc based in Leeds, UK. I also like to make things with blender and 3D print some of them!
A render of a 3D structure of the insulin receptor, presented as a desk model. The receptor is in green, insulin in white and the membrane in cream. The stand is black and white. The structure is in atomic view. Whoever you are, you matter and I'm glad you exist :)
