thanks as well, i want to know all the inner workings, hope i use the engine properly though in future

i'm trying to adjust to the way they want it to be used (pretending i have a team a designed may prefer things in the interface), for sake of learning i want to relearn editor-based tools - though i want to know the code underneath, worried if i learn that i'll drop interfaces all over again ;p

something i have to get used to and to follow the way everyone would do it, the 50/50 way, what would be comfortable for me would be to ignore all editor-based and go full code in godot, but then i would have failed to learn an editor-based engine (/standard)

after more godot i remember what i like about my own engine, everything is code, there's no inspector panel, etc. i would assign mob_scene in code, but with editor-based, i have something in code, something in editor, so i have to check both and that inspector takes priority #godot #indiedev

i picked up rain world cause it looked cute like hk it's kinda creepy / eerie which i admire how difficult that could be to pull off in 2d, and so far feels like it's going to be a challenging game i have two rocks to my name, and a whole world to tame

enjoying learning godot, got excited & had to try a html5 build, haven't used an interface, nodes or blueprints in years since i'm doing things in my own engine one thing i did notice (html5 export): my engine (haxe): 1.2mb (min) godot: 35mb (compressed 10mb) (min) #godot #indiedev

i finished rubikscube v2, feels good, will be on itchio v2 was about improving user interaction, they control the turning manually by click+hold and dragging hopefully I'll add the ui / stats polish later, i want to get back to other gamedev projects #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday

one more update before I push V2 of rubikscube 🥳 here, there was a turning issue if you try to reverse direction, it would struggle to turn and you can see 'jitter' which in the second half of the video looks smoother and resolved now just to allow > 90' turns #gamedev #indiedev #haxe #html5

Saturday’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #birdonawire birds on a wire or line and the alternative is #silhouette #birds For all (including me) in need of some color: Green Bee-Eater from Armenia some years ago
the bird is sitting on a very thick wire and in front of blue sky. Bird is looking to the right top of the picture, showing the green head, green tail, and the wings are slightly lifted and you can see the salmon red colored underwings. the beak is black and there is a black eyestripe and a red throat spot

i only discovered listenbrainz (/musicbrainz), i love how clean the site is compared to other scrobblers (last / libre fm), and it's easy to navigate with the perfect amount of information i want to see, and the collages are a great bonus thank you! nice to hear that from the team ^^

Slow 😆 I've completed a couple in real life but not my own apps actually. I'm thinking of different ways I can make this the best RubiksCube app on the net since I've put quite a lot of time into this V2 lol So UI will have all UDLRFB and reverse (e.g. U') Thinking about U2 as well for 180 turn ..

i nailed render interpolation* 😍 i locked this app to 20fps (as a test) if you can run 240hz this will artificially create 220 in-between frames for a smoother render - i'm pressing a button to turn it off and on, can you see the difference? *crazy behaviour at high speeds 🫡 #gamedev #indiedev

v.hard to fit all that in one tweet: in this video, rendering can run wild and free at 240fps, but the game has been capped to 10fps, but there's a way to turn that 10fps game into 240fps (visually, at least) "fixed time-step and interpolated rendering" www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8Lv...

i always wanted to try 'Render interpolation' moving an object from 0x to 20x: 0x 10x 20x (2 updates in 2 frame(s), 2 render(s)) ✅ 0x ??? 20x (2 updates in 1 frame(s), 1 render(s)) ❌ there's a way to inject an in-between render & i might be getting closer to pulling this off 😍 #gamedev #indiedev

what do you think of the cursor behaviour? it can mimic the rubikscube transform allowing it to face the same direction, i can take it a step further and print a sprite of the cursor on initial grab spot, so it's linked to the cube and not the mouse position #gamedev #indiedev #screenshotsaturday

++🪽 @snkygames.bsky.social · 22/03/2025
why not all in one project (/scene)? then you have to write something to hold the UI in place, and then that code might be constantly running and most likely will be prone to bugs and potential further touch issues - i did do that for SF though.. wanted to try a new method

++🪽 @snkygames.bsky.social · 22/03/2025
have to use the word 'ridonkulous' ..running multiple projects, one project always won priority of the touch; i've solved this, multiple projects can run and intersect with each other, and touch will decide accurately #gamedev #rubikscube #indiedev #screenshotsaturday
